Buy bags for the life you live, not the life you want.
Don't buy bags that are nearly perfect - if it's too heavy, impractical, the straps are nearly but not really long enough, let it be.
Just go for the quality pieces and don't let a cheaper price tag tempt you.
Take out all the bags you own at least twice a year, count how many you have, let go of the ones you don't wear.

Also: eat the chocolate, drink the champagne, smile to that boy, and dance for as long as the music plays. Never believe when someone tells you you're not good enough.
Love this so much. I'm guilty of all of these!!! :-s

This is good advice.. I made a lot of mistakes of buying bags that look good but don't fit my lifestyle. Lots of dressy bougie looking bags don't fit my lifestyle lol. I also get tempted by bags that are a good price but I'm not really in love with.

If there is a bag you want, don’t settle for a cheaper, but close, bag. You will still want the original. But when you get THE bag, understand that you will not achieve purse peace either. That doesn’t really ever come until you take the advice of others: just because it’s pretty doesn’t mean you have to own it. Curate your wish list wisely. And develop multiple interests (including ones that don’t cost money).

Thank you for all the posts on this thread. I'd tell myself a lot of the things you would like to have too.

Most of all, I'd tell myself it's OK, bags and non-bags. I never lacked material goods, and so I'd make sure I'd thank my parents again for all their good advice and beautiful things they gave or passed on to me - including how to take care of them.

For all of you - at any age:

I would tell myself not to be "influenced" by others & be true to your own individual sense
of style. Fashion comes & goes but style always remains.
I would buy the best even if it meant saving for it. One will always be satisfied having what
they want & it is always worth the wait.
Last of all least, there will always be people that are "jealous of your taste , style & perhaps
quality of lifestyle"... Just ignore & smile & know that it is all worth it at the end of the day or years!
