I'm going into my third year of law school and I wear my Rolex but I don't think I look pretentious. One girl in my con law class was recently married to her doctor hubby and she wore her 5 carat e-ring every day to school!Honestly, I find most people don't even notice my watch.
I was also thinking that. I'm sure most people don't obsess over jewelry and watches like we do, lol.
I think when you find the right piece you'll know it. I personally wouldn't keep a friend's diamond though, i would just feel weird if i re-set it and was like look this was yours. But i'm weird like that.
I think so too! I just need to look around more!
What does your heart say?
Personally, since you already have other diamond pieces, but no matching bracelet, I'd go for the bracelet. However, a Rolex watch is timeless (not literally, one hopes! LOL), but I'm not into watches myself, so I'd naturally lean toward the bracelet.
Someone mentioned that, since your jeweler is willing to give you that amount, you may be able to get more (in cash) elsewhere. Perhaps you could try that, then return to your jeweler to buy something.
Right now, my first thought is to go for a Rolex.
I wear my watch daily but diamond bracelet for occasions. So it's really up to you and what you wear most or what attracts you most, earring, pendant or ring?
Cost per wear would make the Rolex a better 'investment', IMO.
My heart is saying to go for a Rolex.
Pros:
Classic, will hold its value, would be close to an even-trade if not exactly equal. Could be 'upgraded' in the future, either a different model, diamond bezel, etc.
Cons:
A teeny tiny part of me feels like having a Rolex at 25/26 is a but much. Like what else would I look forward to? (Cartier!

So if I go for the Rolex, now I need to decide between SS or two-tone, ladies or midsize. Which is more classic? I wear white gold and platinum, but wouldn't mind going two-tone for a watch.
Thanks for all of your help so far!!!
