you should definitely get a new one, make it a whole day event, go to the boutique, enjoy taking a good lot at all the lovely jewelry, take your time with the SA, try them on, get a gift wrapping and then when home take your time unwrapping your wonderful gift you have earned. I always think it makes the whole experience of getting a well deserved present unique and a fantastic memory!

If you like the look of the worn and already loved ring, go for the pre-owned. The Trinity just gets better with age. Its like getting a pre-patina'ed piece. Some Trinity rings say "Cartier" on the outside of the ring, and some have it on the inside. Mine is on the outside of one of the rings. The boutique had both at the time I bought mine. You'll love it. Mine is one of my favorite rings!

Buy it at the Boutique, worth going to try on as sizing is different to standard rings. Mine is size larger than I normally wear. Like said above enjoy the experience, rather than always slightly worrying its not real.

If you can be 100% certain of the authenticity of the pre-owned piece then I would absolutely go that route, but that's just me. Most of my designer items are used and I prefer it that way. I love the savings and if you aren't planning on going into the boutique anyway then why not get more for your money?

As for the Tiffany pearls by the yard, I wouldn't waste money on that. You can get the same or better quality pearls in the same design many other places for TONS cheaper. It would be a waste to spend it on that. I'd go with the VCA pendant instead.

Congratulations on your savings, that's excellent! :smile1:

I was going to ask if you do know your exact size already as it cannot be resized -- IMO, I would buy new....it is a piece to last a lifetime for sure......I have the sparkle one and LOVE it and never take it off -- can't wait to see your pics!

Hello, ladies, thanks again for chiming in.

After the price hike a couple of weeks ago the classic model went from £775 to £925. I almost passed out and, Cartier or not, I think that's absurd. So I went with pre-owned and saved about 65% off current retail. The ring came complete with boxes, cards, etc., in pretty good nick and fits perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased with it.

I promised to pictures so here are some quick snaps. 'scuse the bare nails, I've a stinking cold.

Wow...that looks absolutely gorgeous on you! I would get it in a heartbeat but my fingers are short and it would look horrible on me. You were really smart to go with pre-owned. It looks brand spanking new! Wear it in good health!
