I have had a pair of J color 3.09ctw studs for over a decade. I wear them nearly every day. I had my studs set in custom 6 prong platinum settings.

Recently, I’ve been lusting after yellow gold bezels. I don’t have the budget for a second pair.

I bought halo jackets to change my earrings up. I don’t know if the studs fit properly in the jackets or if they sit too high. Also, do my studs look too yellow against the halos?

Keep the halos or use the money to reset my studs?

I apologize for the poor lighting and photography. Studs could probably use a very deep scrub.

Okay if it were REALLY me? I'd get a second pair haha. Yes, just wait until you get a second pair... in general you only benefit from waiting because who knows, maybe you'll get inspired by something else you like more in that time or change your mind. So if you CAN wait, just wait. These are super pretty studs in the meantime that you can wear anywhere, anytime, forever! You're not missing out on anything.

I agree with the previous posts, the halos don't really go with the studs, they make them look yellow, but the studs look great without. Be aware that a white gold setting always helps to make the stone appear more bright & white, that will not be the case with a gold bezel setting.
If you're unsure if you like the gold bezel settings better and have budgetary restrictions, how about getting an affordable mock version first, so you can compare and try it out (I'm thinking about CZ and gold plated sterling silver). And then after some time maybe you feel more comfortable making the decision.
On the other hand, maybe a moissanite might be a great solution, if you want a piece of gold jewelry and a nice stone, but diamond is not in your budget at the moment.

There seems to be a consensus here. I was starting to like the halos, but maybe I will have some custom made in the future.

What do you think of getting a second pair in a smaller size, maybe 1.50 ctw with yellow gold bezels?

I love your studs, but I do not like the jacket with them. It doesn't seem to fit that well and it sort of diminishes them, and it isn't what you said you wanted. A gold bezel will be amazing! I would opt for returning the jacket and getting bezels!

I agree that the studs don’t look right on your ear with the jackets, the fit isn’t close enough imho. Personally, I think they look great on their own, super classic and a great size! I know that sometimes I get a bit fed up of my daily wear jewellery too. How about putting the earrings away for a few weeks, buy some nice pearl studs (or similar) to wear instead, then seeing how you feel when you bring out again? Maybe you’ll miss them......

im late to this discussion, but would love to hear how you resolved the Diamonds in yellow bezel craving!

ITA with @Mairaculi, to get an affordable mock version first, so you can compare and try it out. The mock version can always be used as travel jewelry afterwards.

ITA with @doni and @Diamondbirdie to just put them away and alternated wearing other earrings for a while. Then you can go back to classic studs with new appreciation.

@McLoverly, I don’t think anyone will be happy going smaller after you’ve been satisfied with the much larger size for so many years, so I do t think getting 1.5 ctw will appeal.

the halo that you returned wasn’t gold bezel?
