I wish I carried smaller bags, but normally I carry medium sized handbags.

I keep trying to pare down what I carry, but then I am out and about and need something I have left at home. Always. lol.

I have shoulder/neck issues, so don't carry leather bags very often. I try to stick to canvas, coated canvas or cloth to lighten things up a bit.

Part of my problem is I LOVE a full-size wallet. I try to carry smaller wallets now and then, but always end up going back to my big wallets.

Someday I hope to master carrying less. It's a process for me.

For me it totally depends on what I’m doing. I’m a couple of inches below average in the height department so huge bags aren’t the best. However, I use a Bayswater or similar for work. I love crossbody satchels which are my go to casual bags. The Alexa is my perfect bag size. I do use a larger tote or hobo for serious shopping. I also have several smaller bags such as the Lily or Dinky for evenings/events. I love the versatility of the chain strap crossbody or doubled over the shoulder.

I prefer clutch more, compared to larger bags.. Backpacks were my favorite when I was in college. Today also, I have my medium size tote with a clutch inside. I can carry clutch without any extra effort and weight. With most essentials easily stuffed in my medium side bag... bigger size bags are used just on-requirement basis. This was the latest clutch that I bought from ShopLC.com at just $10

I tried switching to smaller-sized bags, but unfortunately, it didn't work. Even with utilizing pockets in my jeans and a jacket, if I wear one, I was still left wishing I had a bit more room in my bag. Not that I absolutely needed more room, but I would've preferred to have it.

I like carrying full-size wallets. That's just how I like them. Also, I want to carry a necessity pouch, tissues, maybe a book, a small water bottle, lipstick, then obviously a phone, sometimes a charger, etc. I don't enjoy jamming my things into the bag and then having to wriggle them out. I like to have some room to spare, just in case I need to put something in my bag later in the day.

If I need to make a quick grocery store run, I won't carry a bag at all, just my cards and my phone in my pockets, so a mini bag isn't really something I would ever wear, realistically.

When I do have to carry my stuff with me, I would wear either a small-ish/medium-sized bag or, more often than not, a medium-sized one. Like your typical 12x8 in or 30x20 cm, something along those lines.

I need something about 9 inches wide and 7 inches tall. I prefer something that doesn’t stick out/isn’t too bulky at the base. Chanel Reissue 226 is perfect, as is Hermès Kelly 28 retourne, but I had dealing with a flap. I have a small Prada Cuir double bag that’s close to the perfect size, but slightly heavier than what I would consider perfect. I really like the convenience of an open tote and arm carry, but often need a shoulder strap. Louis Vuitton Alma is a good size except it is just slightly wide at the base.

I've been kind of eating my words lately. I had small bags in the past but always found them just not worth all the compromises.

Then, a few days ago I saw this bag for sale at a great price and thought it was just too good of a deal to pass. I was thinking I would just maybe try it out since I've never had any handbags by this brand and I was curious. It's on the smaller side, but I figured, for that price, even if I only wear the bag occasionally, it'd still be a good purchase in terms of Cost per Wear.

So I bought it and I absolutely love it. The leather is amazing, especially when you consider how much it retailed for when it was new. It had some creasing on the back due to improper storing, so it took me a couple of days to fix that, and then I've switched into it right away.

Granted, it's not as small as my beloved PS1 Pouch, but I did have to play Bag Tetris to fit all of my essential items and that's pretty much all that would fit.

So I'm going compact for the next week. Let's see how it goes!

(The bag is a DKNY quilted flap, I believe it's called Gansevoort)

I'm 5'2" and I prefer medium to large bags...hello Chanel jumbos!! Also don't find my bags overwhelm my frame, especially the large hobos since they're slouchy and look smaller than they actually are...
