So happy you got the bag. FYI, the strap is not discontinued. It’s available in many stores in the US. The sku is J52315 and it’s $235.

It is not available on the website and the customer service on the phone told me that none of the stores had it, so I assumed it wasn’t sold in the States anymore even though it was available on the Russian LV.

So I was perusing Instagram looking for Chanel SAs to follow. I know this is an LV forum, my main question is about resellers. And that gets discussed often here. I was clicking on pics that looked in boutique and looked like they were perhaps showcasing a bag for sale. I brought up someone with multiple pics in boutique standing at the counter with multiple bags. One by one. And it would say “if you want to take it please message me”. Then her bio says she accepts PayPal, Venmo, bank transfers etc.... :hrmm: is this what I think it is? Is this a reseller that just stands in the boutique snapping pics and taking payments right there? This is nuts. I mean I guess it’s helpful to people who can’t get to the boutique. I’m just trying to wrap my brain around it. It’s a whole new shopping environment out there.

I believe there are two types of sellers on instagram. I followed many of them myself but never bought anything from them. Resellers and Personal Shoppers. Personal shoppers usually don't mark up the price of an item but charge a certain % fees for sourcing an item for you. For example, Chanel flat card holder is retail for $425 and let's say the personal shopper is charging 10% fee so you will pay about $467.50 + sales tax. Resellers will mark up the price. I know someone who works in Client Services who verified that it is available in several US stores. My contact in helped someone get the strap from LV in ATL. If you have a CA, you can ask him/her to check inventory for items that do not show stock on the website or items that have been removed from the website.

Emmjay is right about the strap. I actually picked mine up in a store in November to use with my Favorite Mono. And you’re right that it’s not on the website but CA told me they can order it for you. Anyway I’m glad you only overpaid for the strap and not the bag! So happy you finally got what you wanted!
