What is your favourite semi-precious gemstone and how do you wear it?

I've been reading up a bit on gemstones. Citrine is very pretty but it's actually an adulterated amethyst right? Is it considered a very low-end type of gemstone?

Citrine is heated amethyst. It is quite inexpensive. Even most amethyst in jewelry these days is treated to deepen the purple hue. I love it though!

My favorite stone (besides diamonds) is apatite. I have a 2 ct. solitaire ring. Also have a necklace and bracelet of raw, uncut stones that is gorgeous!

I love color gems and buy a lot of them, sapphire, ruby, citrine, amethyst. Sapphire in WG is more verstatile and easy to mix with my plain outfit while ruby in YG is hard to match with things. I love to watch them but I wear sapphire more often. Will post pics later once I come back to work as I don't have pics at home.

My green amethyst ring with tiny diamonds surrounding it. It was my original wedding ring because we eloped don't wear it nearly enough now that I have a more obvious wedding "set" and it was never properly sized, but this thread inspired me to wear it today as a RHR!

I'd also love a large sapphire and ruby ring someday. In ruby I would get an elongated rectangular ring set in rose gold, and in sapphire I would get an oval with diamond halo.
