Hi ladies. I love diamonds and jade, but recently i've been discovering the beauty of semi-precious gemstones too. I find myself very drawn to the watery beauty of moonstone, especially rainbow moonstones. I have one large stone set in a silver ring and find myself wearing it very often.

What about you ladies? Do you have a particular gemstone that you like?

Hope to see your modelling pics too!

I love a good quality amethyst with red and blue flashes in it. i'm also a huge fan of Spinel, the refraction of this gemstone has so much sparkle and the colours they come in are beautiful!

Wow.. Will u post a pic please? I'm contemplating a ruby ring too, but the unheated ones are quite expensive.

Sure thing! Sorry that I didn't have the best lighting. =/ & maybe try etsy? They usually have great deals.

Second only to diamonds, I love opals of all kinds but preferably dark, chunky and set in silver.

This one came from the young Scottish gem hunter and jewellery designer Adam McIntosh. He's very elusive - always off on adventures and too busy to maintain his web pages or advertise where he'll be selling - but when you can find him, he has some top quality pieces!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1382534594.187109.jpg

A dark natural Australian opal that doesn't photograph very well - in real life it's a glorious royal purple :)

My most beloved gemstone is Morganite in the more lilac/pink color. I even want my engagement ring to be with this stone - I prefer it over diamonds. Because it almost looks like a pink diamond. My boyfriend had to hear what kind of stone I like best for a potential e-ring for the last 10 years...but he does great in repeating it´s name :D

I love rubies. It's my birthstone too. My 2nd e-ring is a ruby and the stone was from my Mother and my Husband had it reset.

Another gem that I collect is amethyst. I have amethyst crystals around the house and I recently purchased an amethyst bezel ring.

I've been reading up a bit on gemstones. Citrine is very pretty but it's actually an adulterated amethyst right? Is it considered a very low-end type of gemstone?
