What is the most lightweight LV?

I also have experienced neck and back pain too and find it is easier carrying a hand-held bag rather than a shoulder bag....the lightest bag I have carried has been my stratus pm and it seems to feel soft on my shoulder too:tup:

My instinct was that hand-held would pull on my shoulder (like walking around with a barbell in your hand) but I've also found they work better for me (I have shoulder tendonis) - as long as I don't load them up too much.

I'm saving for an LV and I want a Speedy 25 - so I can't put too much unnecessary stuff in it, and because I don't like the really saggy looking ones, and because I'm short and big bags look like luggage on me. I also like the Totally PM - anyone know which of these two is lighter?

I have neck and shoulder problems and I really want to purchase a new LV light to carry bag before Summer's end and a price increase.

I have a mono Speedy 30 and a mono petit Noe that I have carried alot but they are starting to feel a bit heavy, especially the Noe. They are bags I purchased years ago with the heavier canvas.

I have the new bags I like narrowed down to the Palermo PM, Neverfull PM and the Monty PM, hoping they are made with the newer, lighter mono material and could take the load off my shoulders and crook of my arm.
Does anyone have any ideas what the lightest bag would be?

Any info would be greatly appreciated TIA

The Monty is super light, but not really a shoulder bag (IMO) because the shoulders on the PM are not that long. I also suggest the Totally, which is very soft and light if you like it. I was never a fan of the NF and have heard many negative stories here at tPF about the straps. Good luck deciding!!!

The lightest I own is Galliera PM - the canvas is thinner than normal canvas to give it the extra slouchiness. Having said that I don't own the NF so can't compare directly. You may wish to check it out.

When I was at the LV boutique two days ago, the SA said the Delightful (at least the PM) is the lightest bag LV makes. I tried it on and it was extremely light. It also has a thick strap which really makes a difference IMO when you're carrying it on your shoulder.

I have a Batignolles Horizontal that I love- it's very lightweight and has two sturdy straps but it's more of a tote bag. I use it for work.

The Galliera PM was very comfy and I think it'll be my next bag.

But the Speedys are great if you want hand-held. They're very lightweight and as long as you have some base (I use a file folder with the edges rounded off) all the weight will be distributed evenly. So far I have no problems with heaviness or sagginess with my Speedys (I have 3!).

Although the NF is lightweight, it has very thin straps which I don't like. There have been many posts about people selling theirs for this reason.

Stay away from bags with a lot of hardware and buckles. You have a lot of options so I'd go to the store and try them on and put your things inside. That's what I always do!!

BTW, I pulled my back out this week packing boxes since we're moving and I've been carrying my Azur Speedy 30 with no problems!
