Hello everybody on Chanel island! *plays French tiki music* if there is such a genre lol...

I just got the idea for this thread when I stumbled upon this beauty below. Obviously, this is not everyone's cup of tea and I am generally not a fan of patent leather, but I find this so glamorous and just stunning. I'm also a fan of the Chain Me Tote that Chanel came out with years ago. And the older Chain Around jumbo/maxi flap bags are interesting to me -- but a little bit too much. I guess I find the chain-around detail quite beautiful. I'm wondering what's the Chanel piece (could be a handbag or something else) you think is absolutely breathtaking. Currently, this bag I chose for this thread is being sold on Farfetch for $35,000!!!!!! Ridiculous, I would never buy it (and I don't have the funds for it lol) but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the pictures. I would love to know your choice and also why! And honestly, it doesn't have to be something unique like that. I'm just interested to know why it makes you feel the way you do and see and hear about more beauties.:heart:

I love my hand-painted python jackets that my mother bought me. Although to be fair my mother said with disappoint in her voice, "Only you could go into Chanel and buy something that looks like Roberto Cavalli". RC was very fashionable back then (I suppose it is again with all this Y2K revival). Anyway, still have them which also goes to show a thing of beauty is beautiful for ever (and I couldn't have afforded them by myself then, and I have no idea how much a single jacket would cost like that that new now - I dare not think).

Thank you for sharing. I love that you picked the items that have been with you for a long time. I've always found Cavalli dresses to be so beautiful and would love to own the perfect dress for me one day, I'm sure your "Cavalli-inspired" -- as your mom puts it lol -- jackets are gorgeous. Would love to see them if you ever want to snap a few photos!

I'm sorry the only 2 I could find are not very good of the jackets because I was taking the pics to show off the (H) scarves and not the jackets.

They are zipped, collarless, short, fitted jackets (not cropped) which are so beautifully cut and made, and the linings are coordinated in pure silk. The logo is actually very small (as was the fashion at Chanel for a few years). They had trousers (pants) or skirts to match if wanted (apparently I didn't want :cray: :crybaby: - then). There was one other cw that was very bright pink which I didn't get. I have some more regular Chanel tweed jackets I also love too, but I think these are most special.

They are beautiful and lined in pure silk! Yummy. I have never stepped into Chanel ready-to-wear but I hear it's becoming harder and harder to find, say, a 100% cashmere, wool, or cashmere-wool blend Chanel coat. So, I bet they don't line with pure silk as often anymore either. I am a fan of snakeskin too, it's a snakeskin Ganni dress in my avatar hehe. The thought of a perfectly fitted classic short lengthed jacket is very satisfying. If I owned these jackets, I would never dare gain or lose too much weight lol! Enjoy and keep enjoying! :flowers:

Thank you for your kind words XXX

You in your dress look beautiful.

Lots of beautiful new RTW at Chanel still, but lots of amazing vintage things too, unfortunately very few bargains even second hand.

this medium/large or I believe medium now as they call it Chanel leather flap covered in lace I bought around 11 years ago. It’s one of the few seasonal Chanel pieces I think I can wear to this day without looking too dated in my opinion. The 2 photos photograph a bit gold-ish but it’s not in reality. It’s a shiny ruthenium looking bag if that makes sense lol darn lighting makes it look yellow haha

Medium flap black sequins.

Ooooooh la la! Love how the silver hardware still stands out so much. Gorgeous.
