Hello, I would like to reopen this thread as I need your advise! I am looking for a warm and fashionable winter coat for this season. It is very difficult for me to find a coat as I am 180 tall and my body is long than other persons! any recommendation? :)

How cold does it get in Vienna? For the coldest NE days, I like a shearling coat. I have a moto version from Blue Duck (made in USA from Spanish micro shearling so pretty lightweight). It's a nice option for me that's not the ubiquitous Canada Goose or other puffer jacket and regular wool coat.

The weather in Vienna is cold, not that cold like Canada but we get usually like - 15 degree.

Have you tried Woolrich? They are price, but indestructible and sooo warm.

I went on Saturday for Shopping and I could not decide between Woolrich and Canada Goose at the beginning. I was trying and trying but finally I got the Solaris Parka from Canada Goose. Just the perfect jacket for me. It is a bit sporty and elegant. And long enough to cover my hips even :)

I was wavering between several styles of Canada Goose coats: Shelburne, Kensington, Victoria, and Trillium. Does anyone have any pros/cons of any of these models? I currently have the CG Mystique so i have my polar vortex winter coat covered. I'm looking more for a coat that would be used for commuting to work in 20 degree or less weather. TIA for your input!

I bought a Canada Goose coat a few years ago when I lived in NYC. Honestly, my biggest "con" was that it was too darn hot for commuting.... Even in weather that was -10 with windchill since this was the winter with record low temperatures a few years back.

I ended up selling it the same season and just wearing one of my cashmere or wool coats with a sweater, scarf, hat, gloves and boots. The cashmere and wool ones can be surprisingly warm if high quality.

If you are using the coat for city living and commuting, a good quality cashmere/wool blend with double lining, is best. Moncler, Canada goose etc will be too warm and will drive you insane. Fur is cruel, and tends to be too heavy. (Not to mention impractical, imagine trying to get rid of breadcrumbs after a little snack.:D) I like max Mara studio, but there are many others.
