What is "bonded gold" in DY jewelry?

They have solid gold as well...I actually own a dy ring made of 18k gold. They may have bonded gold but they have solid gold, and silver as well. I always encounter unknowledgeable Sa's. One even told me treated means fake. Just ask for the product and look at what is engraved inside the jewelry.

I thought that I was the only one that encounters a unknowledgeable SA's. I was showed some solid gold today and I was told today that bonded gold is about how the silver and gold links were put together. When I showed her the item online she said that the gold parts are solid gold and not gold plated.

Geez. Sounds like they need to retrain their sales people.

I agree with you

Here's a link that explains it. Its much much higher quality than a plating, in fact its not a plating at all. Plating is only micro-layers, very cheap.
Sadly many sales persons don't know the difference or how to explain it. It is confusing. I am familiar with Gold Filled, its similar but the base is not necessarily silver, so this caught my attention. It should be disclosed. Hopefully Yurman is working on training its stores. I'm not very familiar with the line, I briefly looked at the website I didn't see anything about bonded gold. That's too bad..... Its not bad quality really but you cant call it "Solid" gold its just not accurate.

Here's a screen shot of the item in question. This is the oval large link bracelet.

Hmm I see. So they have the description as "bonded Gold" and the option for solid gold and Silver.
It would be helpful to have an explanation of their bonded Gold on their website. I really don't think its bad, it should wear like the Gold because the layer is heavy enough but I think most people just need to understand it or it comes off as "cheap".
Its a pretty bracelet. I would buy the bonded one if the other one was out of my budget.
