What is a reasonable "wish list" for a SA?

Hello lovely ladies and gents on the Forum. I'm relatively new to Hermes, but I just got a lovely note from a SA whom I have worked with previously, saying "Spring goodies are coming in, and would I like her to look out for anything in particular?"

Well, how can I say no:laugh:? I actually was pretty flattered that I got such a nice note, since I've bought a few things from that store/that SA, but in Hermes world, I am by no means a big spender.

Anyway, well, yes, there are a few things ,but not really a lot. I'd like a couple of enamels, a collier du chien (but only in etoupe/etain or indigo with GHW...good luck, I know), a couple of matching twillies, and eventually (though I don't want to order it yet since it's for a wedding present in the fall, and I'd like just to ship it directly from the Hermes store), a Cheval du Orient vase/pitcher. Is it reasonable to ask her to look out for these smaller items? I realize most of items are easy to sell to walk-ins so I do not want to waste her time. I'll be sure to order the Cheval du Orient vase from her in a few months, either way, but it's not that 'urgent'. Of course I would also love a 35 black birkin with GHW, but I feel that my list is too small to justify asking for this, too.
It would be great having her look out for these items, though, since the store is 2 1/2 hours from me, and I seriously have NO luck with H.com.

Serious shoppers on the forum, is this a reasonable wish list? Or should I just take my chances next time I am in the store? TIA!

Fashionistanc, I think it's always a good idea to have a "wish list" on file with a SA.....and, she did ask, which was lovely. Put the Birkin on your list....can't hurt! :-)

BTW, what a cute little Blenheim!

Thanks, Cavalier Girl! hmm, with an avatar name like yours, I'm sure you'd appreciate a pic of my blenheim!:smile1: (personal opinion) Cavaliers are the most wonderful little dogs.
Oh, yes, and a Le Robinson Marine colorway scarf. (thanks enablers on this forum...you know who you are!)

Personally I feel the only wishlist you should be asking your SA to look out for are items which you intend to purchase immediately. I think asking for what your looking for and have the funds to purchase if she were to find them is reasonable including a birkin if you are ready!:flowers:Of course every store and SA are different, I am sure there will be several different opinions and I can't wait to hear them!

Sorry if I was unclear. The items I intend to purchase immediately include all of the above with the exception of the vase. It seems like a small list, though, which is why I am unsure about calling.

my wish list spans about 15 items currently (and only 1 is a handbag!) and my sales associate is so kind to update me now and then with surprise phone calls. wishlists, whether it be short or long, are a great tool for the boutique to gauge interest for future inventory. Add that birkin to your list! its the first step to acquiring your dream!

I did not think you were unclear.:flowers:It was a personal opinion on what I think you should put on your wishlist. I see several people put things on their wishlists in which they are still saving for. I feel you should not ask for something which you are not ready to pay for. You never know where and when your next item will come! I hope this clears up my statement!:flowers:

Completely agree, Julide. I would not want to be embarrassed by getting a phone call and not being able to purchase said item. Frankly if it were up to me I'd also buy the vase now since I tend to 'jump the gun' on purchases for weddings, just so I can buy what I want and not have to deal with the scraps left on the registry. That so irks me! (like the time I wound up having to buy two wine goblets and a bathroom scale, since that was all that was left. I learned my lesson!)

BTW I forgot to add; no list is too small in IMHO. I lost one of my scarves this week and had to call my SA to get a replacement. She was more than happy to help me!:flowers:

Definitely give that wishlist to your SA (including the Birkin!). Being 2 1/2 hrs away from a store means that you can't just pop in every week to check inventory, so definitely rely on the SA to pull things aside for you as they trickle in. Don't worry about "wasting" her time with silks or leather bracelets...those are the items that get snapped up before they even make it out of the shipping box, so you NEED her to be on the lookout! And again, let her know you are looking for a black Birkin. You never know...

LOL... .tell him if you get these things now it will be cheaper in the long run because the prices will go up (Hermèsonomics)

I'd give your SA the vase on your list too. It might take some time to come in and, if not, she can hold it there for you (once you've paid for it) and still ship from the store.

The other thing your list will do for your SA is give her a feel for what you like, then she'll ring you about lovely things you need that youy didn't even know you needed!
