What indicates a high quality bag?

I agree with the post saying you should go to a high-end department store and touch the bags. Zip and unzip the zippers. I recommend picking up and touching Chloe. Although I have many other brands, their leather is so soft and thick, you are bound to feel the difference.
And I agree that Coach and Dooney and Bourke have durable bags with great leather. When I was a teen, I dreamed of having a Dooney and Bourke, but couldn’t afford it. It wasn’t until I was nearly 40 that I bought my first Coach. Then one thing led to another and, unfortunately for my pocketbook, I went to Chanel, YSL, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès. But Chloe is still one of my favorites and I still have a few Coach.

I do not think that price equates quality all the time. For years, I collected Balenciaga knowing that the handles would darken and the corners would scuff if you looked at them wrong, lol. But, I loved the look and that they were lightweight so I continued to buy. It's the same with Louis Vuitton. I have several Damier Ebene bags where the corners are starting to darken even though I do not wear them on a daily basis. On the flip side, I have older Coach bags that have worn like iron. I also have Brahmin bags that are stitched to perfection and will last for years and years. Brahmin also offers a 2 year warranty which is almost unheard of. They are probably a 5th of the price of LV canvas, lol. I agree that a lot of the designer bags use better leather, but that does not mean that they will stay pristine for long term use.

No matter what the price is, if you find a bag that you can tell is well made, and the company stands behind their product, and you like it, buy it

I just moved houses and had all by bags packed away. I unboxed my Chloe Marcie today and was taken aback at how amazing the leather is!!
