I can't figure out how the Coach strap got so worn out, but its pretty bad.

I had another Coach a few years ago - now, this was a Coach bought at the Coach store not the outlet. Well, some pieces fell off the bag, so I contacted Coach to see if they would replace them (they claim they will replace or repair their bags). They said they no longer made that style of bag, so they couldn't help me. But they would send me a $50 gift certificate toward a new Coach bag. Overall, I'm finding that Coach is not good quality. LV and Chanel are out of my price range right now, so if anyone can recommend a good brand of handbag for me I'd appreciate it. Looking to spend in the $100 to $300 range.

Same thing happened to my best friend with a Coach bag bought in a Coach store. Within 3 months it needed repair and all they did was give her $50 towards another bag which means she would have to shell out more money on another subpar bag. I had warned her about Coach's drop in quality.

My suggestion for you would be to shop the sales - either season or at outlets (including Off 5th and Last Call. Dooney & Bourke has good quality and the better styles IMO (Alto, Florentine) will be at in that range when they are on sale. I also like Badgley Mishka in that price range on sale. I haven't worn Rebecca Minkoff or Tory Burch but they are often on sale in that range too.

Happy hunting!

View attachment 3087741 Brought out my Mulberry oversized Alexa today. I rarely use it because the closure is a pain, but I still like the look of it!

What a beauty!! [emoji7] I always wanted an OS Lexy in oak and missed out on it. I only have a reg. How sad, that you don't like the closure. For me it's not a problem, but I do understand, that it can be a PITA. Try to enjoy your beauty nevertheless. It looks so gorgeous. [emoji4]

I have a bag I bought from the Coach outlet store.

I've only carried it about 8 months, but the leather strap is worn and breaking in several places. Also, the leather strap attached to the zipper is breaking apart too, can't figure out why because it hasn't been through any "stress".

I know outlet handbags can be different from the ones sold in the main stores, so I wonder if this is poorer quality. No more coaches for me.

They do have a 1yr warranty, have you tried contacting Coach? Yes, some of the bags sold at the factory store are specifically made for them, the creed # will have a letter F in it. Do you know the model/style? i'd probably post in the Coach forum to see if others have had similar problems.

I'm sorry to hear that. I own an all leather coach bag, my hubby bought for me (coach outlet store) about 4 years now used 2 years straight and I guess I've been lucky, no major signs of wear. I heard that some brands make bags specifically for outlet stores... so it could be possible they aren't top notch quality like you would expect. I've moved on to diff brands since then, LV and Chanel, but I love this bag just as much 😍

I have an older MFF Ashley satchel it's been used for years, it keeps going, as with all places some bags are better made than others.

Yours is nice!

The only quality problem i have ever had with COach was some foot hardware fade but that was a bag made for factory with imitation metal hardware which i am avoiding. Otherwise nothing, i am sorry to hear you did.

Dooney makes decent bags, i actually find my MK to be good quality too. Some of the best bags in that price range are by a company from my country called Roots, the bags are handcrafted made in my country with high end leathers. They are not designer though if that matters to you.

Apparently, the Coach "warranty" is that they will give you $50 towards a new Coach bag. That is my second experience with poor quality Coach bags. (One purchased at a Coach store, another one purchased at a Coach outlet store.)

I don't want to be too negative about a company on a public forum, so I will be careful about what I say. I will just say this, I won't purchase another Coach bag ever again. However, they are very popular handbags where I live, not sure why.

I'd like to look at some Michael Kors bags, or maybe another Arcadia bag (made in Italy, I think the quality is very good and they are more affordable than Coach).

I've always wanted a LV bag but couldn't afford one (I've wanted one since high school and that was a long time ago!). I've even tried Ebay and was appalled to see what sellers wanted to get for old, worn out LV bags and wallets.

What a pretty bag! I can understand the closure being a pain... I have Proenza PS1 and usually just leave the 'tails' open unless when I take a picture of it. But your Mulberry looks more difficult to open with that kind of strap.

Today carrying Alexander McQueen small padlock tote in bright pink. So sleepy today hoping this bag's bright color could wake me up a bit. That didn't work but still love it anyway.

Get outta here!!! That bag is on my list! I love the new version better than the old one. I want this in black with GHW!!!
