So I have a number of bags that I'd love to add to my collection but haven't bought for one reason or another. For example, I love Chanel classic flaps in mediums and minis but just have not been able to justify purchasing another Chanel flap bag because they just don't work for my lifestyle. For me, they just don't fit enough stuff and I tend to like to like just throwing things into a bag. But I do ooh and ahh every time I see photos here on TPF especially when they're pink, navy or green!

I am also obsessed with the velvet pink Gucci marmont bag but also cannot bring myself to buy one because i don't think the velvet would hold up if I used it regularly and I think there'd also be color transfer issues. Plus what if I got water on it?!

Finally, I am obsessed with the medium lady dior but again wonder if it would work with my lifestyle. I tend to be casual. Would a black lambskin really work with jeans and a tee? And if I regret purchasing it'd be a rather expensive decision given it does not hold value well on the resale market!

I'm curious to know if you all have bags on your wishlist and haven't jumped on for one reason or another! (And I'd love for this to not focus on costs - which is an obvious barrier sometimes!)

Oh this is a great thread!

The Chanel reissue - I absolutely adore this bag. I've actually owned two and sold them because I couldn't work them into my lifestyle. Believe me, I've tried.

The Birkin - besides the "elusive" issue, the overexposure of the bag rubs me the wrong way. It's a gorgeous bag but it draws too much negative attention sometimes, outside of TPF, of course.

I'm craving a Givenchy Antigona bag like you wouldn't believe. The only reason I haven't taken the plunge is because I am slowly saving for it. I have credit card bills I want to get down before I make such a drastic purchase. I also like to pay cash for my bags so I don't have any lingering charges on my card. Since I pay in cash, it takes me quite a while to save for it, but I am closer to having enough money for it than not!

LV petite noe in epi leather. I just loved the look since many years back when I first set eyes on a tri colour version. But the wide base was always an issue for me. Somehow it never seem to either fit my frame or when I carry it, it seems to "take up a lot of public space" if you know what I mean. I also don't like people knocking into my bag thus I know this bag will cause me stress when out. But over the years I've never stopped looking at it. So many different colours. Then early this year I actually paid deposit for a fushia colour which I love. Then when my brand new piece was in my hands in the boutique, I just couldn't take the final plunge! I used the deposit towards a pochette metis instead. Regretted not buying it a couple of months later ....only to realise there are no more fushia in stock. Went to Europe in June....nada... you know that feeling of when u can't have it....It's the best? But lucky for me they came out with the Lockme bucket... which I now love sooo much! Kinda like a replacement. Who knows..... I might eventually get an epi petite noe, just to satisfy that hole [emoji26]

I totally know that feeling when you can't get your hands on something you want! I fell in love with the Chanel mademoiselle vintage flap after it was sold out in black. I was so mad at myself for not getting it when I had the chance!

Gucci Mini Dionysius, canvas. I don't really know how I feel about a bag with suede. And I can't decide between the red or black trim.

Louis Vuitton Pallas BB and a Nano SDJ. I want both, but I think I'll wait for my next trip to Las Vegas in October to buy one. Also: if i go with the Pallas BB in Rose Ballerine or Black leather trim is a big decision.

Mansur Gavriel Mini Sun Tote. I don't want to pay full-price, and ssense didn't have any on sale in the last big sale so I figure I'll just wait for after Boxing Day.

Chanel Flap is on my wishlist. Aside from the actual cost (which plays a huge factor), I haven't bought it because I know it's a bag I'll only use on special occasions. I wouldn't even wear it on a daily basis.

That and I've heard the bags are heavy, even the regular flaps.

I regret purchasing the jumbo. Too big for my frame (I'm five feet), too heavy, and cumbersome to get in and out of because of the double flap. Also I tend to be casual so I don't know what I was thinking when I got this in gold hardware. I've decided to hold on to it nonetheless as a reminder of why I'll never buy another Chanel classic flap. (Well at least I hope to not buy another one!)

That's good to know. I have heard some people don't like the jumbo for exactly the reasons you stated.

I don't want a jumbo, personally (it's WAY too big for what I want to use it for); the largest I would go for would probably be the medium large and even then I find it a little too big. I would like to get a rectangular mini, but I've also heard that that bag gets heavy due to the chain....soooo.... :-s

I'm into the contemporary brands recently, and actually did purchase the Henri Bendel dalton tote, before the order got cancelled on me without notification. Now I'm trying to convince myself that I don't really prefer stiffer leather bags; saffiano are a no-go, and wondering if the heat-embossed leather would develop the same surface scratches, and the wrinkles that are deal-breakers for me.

• Chanel Black Tote - I haven't seen one with the features I want (the perfect strap drop, center zip compartment, big enough for my laptop, etc.) When I do, I'll snap it up.

• Chanel Black Boy - I haven't see the "right" one for me. I want something interesting - not the standard ones.

Gucci Dionysus - Same as with the Boy. I love these bags but the "right"'one for me hasn't come out yet

• Every velvet bag that Gucci makes - The colors are so rich and saturated. But the velvet looks evening-y to me which would limit wear. And I worry about stains answear. over time.

• Balenciaga Meta Plate Bag - I adore this bag and I want it in black. But, I have a ton of black bags. So I feel like I can't justify it.

• Givenchy Antigona - I think I waited to late on this bag and am worried that if I get it now, shortly thereafter it willgo out of style. So now I'm waiting to see if it becomes a classic.

• TBD Saddle bag - I love saddle bags. And I craved the Gucci Lady Web saddle. But I read it scratched easily so I passed. Now I don't know what bag can scratch this itch.

The list is sooo long!
Bucket bags - too open
Light colored bags - too vulnerable
Chain strap bags - HATE clunky chains
Full flap bags - the flap gets in the way
Slouchy big bags - drives me nuts when I can't find things
Ironically, these are the styles that look SO good to my eye and I have at least one in each category that I love the look of.

I share your feelings about the antigona and Gucci velvet bags! Also with the marmont I feel as if this one does not have as much staying power but only time will tell!
