Chubbiebunnie - I'm so glad you posted this because I'm grappling with the same decision! As recently as last week, I was 100% sure that I'd be buying either A) 4-diamond WG love and Anita Ko spike bracelet to stack together, OR, B) 10-diamond WG love.

Now, instead of the above, I'm strongly considering the following: YG love, black leather WG Hermes CDC, and medium WG Anita Ko spike bracelet with 1 pave spike. I've been greatly enjoying the bracelet stacking trend, and this way, I come out of it with 3 timeless bracelets *and* about 3K ahead, as compared to my original 2 choices above.

We'll see, I'm still deciding and there's no rush. I'll be interested in seeing other people's responses here. :smile1:

That's so funny because I was just looking at the pics of stacking the Anita Ko with Love or the all gold CDC with the Love!

Do you know how much the CDC is?

Though I wonder how much damage having all of those bracelets clank against each other will be...

I copied this from a post by Carlinha on the "Lovin' the collier de chien bracelet" thread at http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes-clubhouse/lovin-the-collier-de-chien-bracelets-118440-229.html ....

$1050 - leather
$1275 - lizard
$1850 - gator (they don't use croc anymore to make CDCs)

I don't know how much the all-metal versions are, but personally I think the animal skin versions are what makes this cuff edgy. I'm hoping for a black leather YG CDC!

As for damage, if you stack or wear bracelets with a watch, it's inevitable. The patina of daily wear on jewelry has never bothered me, in fact, I prefer it because it gives it "character" and keeps things from looking too pristine and perfect.

It's a really hard one. I bought the plain YG last year for under $5K and the 4 diamonds did seem like almost double the price ... I love the diamonds but just couldn't justify it! I still kind of wish I had them but still can't stomach that much for 4 tiny diamonds - like someone here said, you could buy a gorgeous tennis bracelet for that to stack! I have had people tell me that I got "the perfect" one - simple and clean, classic... like you I don't have $4K extra to just toss away and honestly as much as I love my love it's a lot for a gold bangle to start with, KWIM? good luck deciding!! :) Go with your gut. And good for you for following Suzie!

I'm in the minority around here, I love the screw motif so much, I'm not really in love with the diamond version. I would much rather have the money for another Cartier piece like a ring or a watch.

I only like the diamond one if you stack it with the plain one. I would get the plain one and for $5K you could get a non-brand diamond bracelet to go with it.

ITA...and this is from a gal who loves her diamonds!! :p

Checking in with ya, chubbiebunnie -- what is your latest thinking?? :smile1: I'm currently about 95% sure I'm going to get a YG love, no diamonds. Along with a medium size WG Anita Ko spike bracelet with 1 pave spike, and hopefully also a black leather CDC with silver or gold. I plan to wear the Love with the Anita Ko on my left wrist (with my watch), and the CDC on my right wrist.

Of course, this grand plan could be foiled if I end up falling in love with an altogether different piece of jewelry, such as something antique. Or maybe even the Tiffany Victoria ring. I'm all over the map!!

Ditto here! If only I could win the lottery, then my jewelry problems could be solved. (Or could they? :p)

After seeing all the posts (and wisdom) by ladies here, I'm also 95% sure that I'm going to go with the plain. The more I look at pics of the diamond version, the more the "sparkle" that had originally attracted me disappears when I think of what other things I could purchase with the money.

I also end up wondering if I originally wanted a diamond because quite a few of my friends have regular Love bracelets and this is me wanting to be "different"; though I could be different by layering with other gorgeous bracelets! (Or buying a DBTY necklace?)

I'm thinking either RG Love with the gold CDC or the RG Love with the RG Anita Ko with the Pave spike, though I haven't seen either the AK or CDC in person yet. (Wondering how the AK hinges would hold up to long term use...especially since I have a habit of forgetting to take off my jewelry before I shower. Every day.)

Perhaps we should go on a shopping spree together?! Dual haggle with Cartier :graucho:

chubbiebunnie, thanks for starting this thread! Up till now I had been 95% sure that I was going to get a 4 diamond love bracelet... But after reading all the responses I'm seriously swayed into getting just the plain one, and using the extra cash to buy a sparkly tennis bracelet to stack! If you think about it, it's about $4k extra. Or under $1k for each of the tiny diamonds.. They are 0.1ct each, G colour and VS2 clarity. But for that price you could probably get about 10x the carat weight in a non-branded bracelet...

I'm glad to hear that there are other gals who are in this boat!

My goodness. .4 carats for $4k. I was hoping they'd be just a bit bigger...I haven't seen them in real life though. I really should just get my lazy butt to a Cartier boutique and try them all on.

I say that we should all go on a Cartier shopping day!

I decided on the 4 diamond Love because to me it is really the best of both worlds, you have the diamonds which I really wanted AND the screws which are iconic. I know it is really expensive for those 4 diamonds and I thought about it a lot but in the end the diamonds really did it for me. I am also not planning to buy another bracelet to stack with it and I already have a nice tennis bracelet that I will wear with it sometimes and this is also going to be my one and only Love bracelet so that I really how I decided. I actually started thinking about getting it last Feb. when the price was $7800 so I agree the price is steep but Cartier diamonds are not going to be inexpensive either.

^I have to agree. Don't let the money be the deciding factor if you could afford either one. I actually regret not buying the rainbow bracelet. I purchased a plain one. If I could do it over again, I would buy the rainbow one and just be content with having one bracelet. Even though I purchased my plain one years ago, the price difference between the plain and semi-precious was around $3,000. I too thought that $3000 for tiny colored stones wasn't worth it. But now that I look back..I should have purchased the rainbow one. Oh well..
