What do you guys think of this E Ring setting?

I think it's very pretty, but I wonder about the security of the stone and also the comfort level when wearing it. I think you would need to clean it more often, since the diamond would be in contact with your skin a lot more with this setting...it seems like it could collect dirt/oil faster.

I also don't think an open bottom has anything to do with light. A diamond is cut to reflect light from the top, not bottom.

I think it is a pretty setting but it does look too open on the bottom.

Actually light from the side makes a HUGE difference. I took my diamond out of a 6 prong that it was set very low in and moved it to a split 4 prong where it was up higher. My diamond has 10x the fire it did before. So, YES, it does make a difference to some degree, even if it's slight, whether a diamond is getting adequate light.

YUP...makes a big difference. Love that setting, chic with an edge.
Sjunky, what size center stone would you use?

I don't prefer it to be floating like that personally. . . looks like something was unfinished to me. I've never seen it on however!
I can see what you mean.
I love this setting! I wished I could have seen it IRL.

I ended up choosing a tacori(finally!) and now I need to find a wedding band like yesterday!
OOhh, Can't wait to see!

Very modern! Will you love this setting 10 years from now? Just my thoughts..
I don't love anything for that long, lol!!!!
Love it! I say go for it! I'm also a fan of letting light from underneath!
Me too, my current setting is open like that , shows much more light than the first that was in a basket.
I like it! Looks similar to Ritani's Endless Love setting... Check it out! http://Www.Ritani.com

Edited to add: I just looked at Ritani's setting and it is much more structural. I like your orig design better, personally.
I like mine too because it is simple, yet gorgeous!
I dig that, though I am curious about security on the long term.
Hmm, I have to ask about that.
I've lusted over that setting in YG a bunch of times. Really pretty.
From this exact designer? What do you think of the quality?
Doesn't it look like the bottom could poke your finger?
I don't think they would have it like that if it would poke, I could be wrong though.
I would want the culet protected and somehow blocked from touching my hand. I don't think that setting would make the diamond more sparkly by letting more light in. I think the diamond reflects light from the top.
Not true. My diamond in my current setting reflects like and fire much more than my old setting which was in a basket. The light from underneath makes it shine bright!

I clean my ring everyday , so I am used to it. After brushing my teeth, my ring gets a soak and wash. LOL

Thats what drew me to it, the open bottom to let light in and not block the stone.

Yup Yup Yup. I was shocked at the difference , it really does matter how the sides and bottom are.

My stone is a 1.15
I haven't looked back in here since I posted and light coming in from all angles makes a difference.

it's pretty but I would prefer for the diamonds on the band to go all the way around the band and not stop at the sides. To me, this looks like a cost cutting maneuver.
You mean eternity? I do NOT want that because my ring size changed a lot because I gain and lose weight with meds. I need the solid back , so it can be resized. You can't see it anyway , unless you turn your hand unide down.

Thanks for everyones opinion. My DH wants me to hold off a whole as I just got this setting this year. But I still have halo fever and James Allen would return it if it didn't work out, I am just out shipping and setting fees.
I wonder how much larger it would look in a Halo? HMM

I definitely think not going full eternity is a smart move. I disagree that it looks "cost cutting". It's very practical to not go full eternity, resizing among other reasons.

But I would say that it's worth waiting it out. If you still want it after waiting a few more months then itll be worth it. I will say that even after all the crap I just went through with my ring I was bitten bad when I saw whoops' ring!

Sjunky - it's beautiful! And so different. Id definitely stare at it if i saw it in person on someone. But I agree to hold off until you are fully sold on it. Or order it to see it and get it out of your head. Sometimes seeing it in person changes what you think you like or want. And you can always return it but it gives you peace of mind. A halo will definitely make your 1.15 jump out and have fire like crazy.

Ame - awwww thank you! I love my teenie-tiny delicate halo on my ring and always thought id be a solitaire girl.... But I do have my lapse days here and there when I see clean fluid solitaires like yours and drool. Especially when they glow so strong on thier own.

Lanasyogamama - tacori makes YG and RG halos too. Any of their designs can be made in either metal and they are quite delicious.

Thanks! Do you mind sharing what size stone is in your Halo setting? it looks massive. LOL

Thanks! It's a 1.25 and measures almost 7mm. Your stone will probably even look close to this size once in a halo because the lines are blurred a little bit.

Here is a link to my post on it with hand shots:

I'm a size 4.75 and had it sized down from the 5.25 I ordered originally.

Your ring looks amazing on you!!!!! Your finger size is so tiny. Mine is not, lol.
Maybe I need a double halo. LOL:roflmfao:
