What do you do with defective clothing?

Wow, returning a used item? Especially after a couple months? That doesn't seem right. I would never do that. At most, I would go back to the store and ask them to repair it free of charge.

Most stores have a place for defective items so they won't be resold. I don't see anything wrong with it. Brands should stand by their products

You get what you pay for so if it was something cheap I would let it go or just fix it myself. I shop at guess a lot and there is always minor problems with their clothes like a seam coming undone. Usually I buy something because I love it and by the time it rips or whatever the store is out of that particular item. Like I said it's always as seam or something I could fix easily and it won't be noticeable so I just fix it myself
If it was expensive I would expect more and ask for a refund or credit if the item wasn't fixable

I agree. Personally, I expect a very different level of quality/service from a cheapie store like H&M or Forever 21 than I would a department store or designer boutique. Of course, it would also depend on the "defect." If a button came loose, I would fix it myself, assuming I hadn't lost the button. If, say, it got a hole, or was damaged in the wash even though I followed the label instructions, I might take it back and complain.

Totally agree..but I did buy a silk top from DKNY and noticed little tiny rips after a month, and they wouldn't take it back - even though I only wore it twice.
