What Color is Your Wallet?

I have 3 wallets - one is an LV Eugenie which is brown and gold (mono) with gold hardware (the closure is gold); a Prada saffiano wallet in bluette with gold hardware (logo is gold); and a slim RL wallet in brown and yellow/gold.

I hope none of those mean I'm in trouble :graucho: I find feng shui very interesting as well and I've read up on some of it, though I am not really that knowledgeable on the topic. I do know red is considered very lucky by the Chinese, so I was a bit surprised by the revelation that it wasn't a good color for wallets. I suppose it's good that I don't have a red wallet? :p

I do agree that having a different colored wallet helps you in finding it in your bag. :smile1:

I've read varying things about a red wallet. Some say red is the fire element and it can make you burn through money fast. Others say red is a sign of success. If you want to get very specific, you're supposed to know your Element and then take it from there. I'm a Water Rat so black is a great choice for a wallet for me. I'm a total novice so take everything I write with a grain of salt.

I also read you're supposed to change your wallet every 3 years. There are many, many details when it comes to feng shui and your wallet :p

My usual wallet is an LV DE ZCP. I also have a bright pink MK but I don't use it much because it's too big for the amount of stuff I carry in my wallet. Before I got the LV one I usually bought black wallets and bags and the MK was a whim (in their outlet when I was on vacation) because it was so pretty.

I didnt know red was bad for spending money :-) Mine is bright red ( LV color cerise). I should have gotten the navy blue.. too bad there are so many pretty red wallets out there!

I wouldn't worry so much. As I mentioned previously, based on what I read, the color red can be a "good" or "bad" for wallets in feng shui. I think there's a lot more to our financial situation than the color of our wallet :p

My old fossil wallet is a reddish brown/maroon color. My new Ted Baker wallet is mint green. I think I do spend more when I'm using the Ted Baker one but I attibute it to the size and form factor of the wallet rather than the color lol. But this is interesting!

Didn't researchers also find out that you eat less if you're using red plates? I definitely think that colors influence us subconsciously!

I agree that color does have an influence on us. I have read studies about how restaurants and stores use colors to influence customers. As for red plates, you are right!

"According to a 2012 Cornell University study published in the Journal of Consumer Research, a high color contrast between food and plate makes you eat less.

In the study, participants who served themselves pasta Alfredo on a white plate (not much contrast) heaped on 22 percent more pasta than those who were given red plates (lots of contrast)."
