I too have the cognac rory and its deft a lighter shade of brown. I have the carnelian rory as well and that would be more along the lines of red in my opinion

Thanks, bagee. I have had Cognac Rory sitting in a chair all afternoon, and though I still see some reddish in the color, I know it is a shade of brown. I am going to take it upstairs to my closet and get out some fall colors--orange, my favorite, especially, and see what it does with that and olive green, and even khaki. I love Rory so much, I hate to return it, but I have to love the color too.

A lot of Coach classic bags (unlined) come in british tan and mahogany. They are available on the web site.
If you want something that goes with everything, you may want more than one brown. Mahogany tends to go with everything (except black, imo, but others would disagree). I have legacy cognac, classic mahogany and camel bags. I could use another one that is closer to nude or taupe. If you want something the color of milk chocolate, you might have to keep looking until the color you like comes along.
Anything in a mid-brown tone is likely to have an undertone of red or yellow. Mahogany works well because there is less room for variation in tone since it is so dark. Cognac is a very saturated brown, which makes it beautiful, but not as versatile as mahogany, which has more black in it.
Thinking of milk chocolate brown, Fawn comes to mind. I love fawn!!
