Bags I've bought at full price are hard to find, even at full retail. Either I really want it or I don't. Resale doesn't really come into it for me so much because I try to think about bags as lifetime purchases.
Bags I wouldn't buy full price are not usually bags I want enough to actually buy in the first place but if something is a overpriced IMO or above budget I will stalk and wait for a discount.

I recently purchased a Chanel and a Balenciaga from TheRealReal. I love those bags and researched the retail price of both. As much as I love them, I would never pay retail for either one.
I'm looking to get another Chanel. After looking at a few in the boutique and at Neiman Marcus, I can confidently say that I don't foresee myself paying full price.
I love Michael Kors handbags, but I have never paid full price for any of them that I own, but I was tempted once. It was from the Michael Kors Collection not the lower priced label. Fully leather lined, pink python, made in Italy in an original design...stunning bag.

i won't pay retail for any of them. pre-loved or nothing. a bag is not a financial investment and i can't see paying retail for any of them. none are worth the price tag and there are more than enough on the resale market to pick from. i can profit from the mistakes of others.
I completely agree but don't forget brand new on sale too! In the past, I've bought Miu Miu, Gucci, Proenza Schouler, & YSL at half off. DVF, Dooney & Bourke, Monika Chiang and Kate Spade at 70% off. Sometimes a great sale gets you a new bag even more cheaply than like new pre owned! 😀
HELLO! I only do preowned for vintage, not really big on preowned handbags, that have traveled in bathrooms and, God knows where else, with prior owner

IMHO, the best purchases come from those who buy brands that rarely, if ever, go on sale and suffer buyers remorse soon after the return period expires. It astounds me how quickly new releases can hit the resale market.
Honestly if I don't love it enough to be willing to pay retail for it, I don't love it enough to add it to my collection.
But if it is the type of bag that goes on sale rather than a permanent collection item, I will wait unless it's something I absolutely can't miss out on and take the chance it won't make the sale.

I wait for sales or shop on the outnet. Seriously, does anyone pay full price? I got my black Antigona at 30% off and the blue at 50% off. I can buy a whole other bag with those savings!
