New year and new decade. I am trying to decide what to wear for the New Year’s Eve party and what handbag to carry of course... I am not buying anything new. In past years, my sister, my mother and I used to buy a new outfits to celebrate, but not any more.
We try to be more ‘sustainable’ and wear what Is already available in the wardrobe.
I am keen to know what bags everyone else here is carrying for the night. Do you have a clutch or a small bag dedicated for evenings or something else? Please do share.

I carry my clear mini crossbody bag. Not the most fashionable thing and no brand name - $22 on Amazon!!, but I get worried about things spilling on it, setting it down in a dirty restroom, and it's a cheap item, in case it gets lost or damaged. Better safe than sorry for boozy-type events with lots of people. I'm always shocked at how many people compliment a clear bag, too. If it was a small house party or more controlled/mature event I'd take my sparkly rockstud Valentino.

We don't make a big deal about it, apparently we are having Chinese food and crashing my son's party (which will be in my house.) Actually I will probably really enjoy this New Years Eve party.
I will have a bag though, it might be purple. Not sure.

None at all. I'm terrified of encountering intoxicated drivers, so we don't leave the house on New Year's Eve. We'll order in and watch stupid movies until we fall asleep at 9:30 PM, then go out for breakfast the next morning and smile extra brightly at all the bleary-eyed, hungover people. And I'll wear my Veneta in Ebano for that.

I'd actually love to do something a bit more formal, but my friends are going casual and the plan is to watch live music at a local bar. I'll probably carry my Bottega Veneta Mini Montebello and wear jeans with a subtle, sparkly gunmetal top. It is the bag in the right in the first photo, and it is perfect for nights out that call for a little oomph, but not an all-out clutch. The second photo is from a casual night out. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...a-photo-with-us.924408/page-271#post-32886489

If we go anywhere, it will likely be a friend's house and I won't be dressing up (I'm getting up early the next morning to teach a free yoga class at my home studio, plus we're all home bodies who celebrate in 'comfortable' style), so I'll just be carrying my bag of the week - my Nano Belt Bag from Celine, which I fell in love with during my January trip to Italy, and then thought about getting it for so long that I ended up purchasing it during my trip to Switzerland/Milan.

This is what I’m planning on wearing. I have some backup options if need be, but I feel like most women are going to wear black or metallic gowns for NYE. I like to stand out in my own way.

I will stick with my chanel jumbo flap in black. Carrys everything and works for me!

hope you all had a lovely time! We have to let our hair down and enjoy life now and then right? I will post some photos of the big night with the chosen one ( bag) I think it’s nice to use it as an opportunity to dress up a little even if we are just going for a casual event or even staying at home. Happy New Year to all of you dear TPFers.
