What Are Your're Go To Brands, Ones you Shop Regularily

Bebe, Guess, Armani Exchange, Diesel, Express (for suits only), Ed Hardy (tops only and sometimes trucker hats), Taverniti, Joes, Citizens of Humanity, J Brand, and a few others I can't think of right now.

Lately, J.Crew has been killing me.

But I also spend SO MUCH money on VS Pink Line.

And I spent a decent chunk the past few months on calvin klein.

And I leave a ton of money at Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads Trading. MANY of the brands I own, I would never be able to own if it wasn't for secondhand shops.

Great thread. I tend to buy all across the board, but these are the specific items I always buy from a certain store/brand:
  • Clothing of all sorts: J Crew. Love their argyle sweaters!
  • Dress Pants: This relatively unknown brand called "From the Hip." I can only find it in Von Maur stores, but I swear the pants were made to fit my shape!
  • Jeans: Joe's or Sevens. Fit (on me) and quality are always perfect.
  • Ballet flats: Banana Republic.
Everything else I either buy as I like (or buy as I can afford!)

I always tend to gravitate toward super-feminine brands/designers and find myself drawn to clothing by Nanette Lepore, Trina Turk, Rebecca Taylor, Milly, etc.

It's "YOUR go-to brands"....not "you're go-to brands".

Sorry, totally OT but sloppy grammar drives me crazy.....

Yes and thank you. I am quite aware that I made the typo, and that your is a possessive pronoun and you're is a contraction. You need not have pointed it out as it is exceedingly clear...I'm sure every other TPFer noticed the typo.

I have been typing like an inebriated sloth for the past two days. I am sorry to have offended your delicate sensibilities.

It's interesting to see everyone's responses--it's given me some ideas! I'm pretty erratic, but here are some of my favs:

James Perse
Alice & Olivia
Splendid
Tibi
MBMJ
Michael Stars
True Religion

H&M, J.Crew for work clothes
Juicy Couture, VS Pink & Aerie for comfy clothes/pajamas/underwear, etc.
AE & Aerie for sweaters
Aldo, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden, & Coach for shoes

Clothes (professional, casual and dressy): Hugo Boss, Max Studio, Nygard and Theory
Those are mostly the brands I have in my wardrobe and I often make a beeline to whenever I go shopping - however, I do have a couple of pieces from BCBG, Trina Turk, Michael Kors and the Classique Line from Nordies. I'm also really starting to love Hudson jeans!

Shoes: Coach, Max Studio, Franco Sarto, Hugo Boss

Handbags: LAMB, Gucci, MbMJ

Mine are J Crew and Banana Republic for button up shirts and sweaters and cute tops and Coats and pants
Gap for Jeans and button up shirts and Tank tops and work pants and sometimes summer skirts
Express for Cute sweaters and summer tops and Jewelry
shoes- I go to Nordstroms or Macys and Lord and Taylor and try on everything until I find excatly what I am looking for
Aside from my tiffany jewelry I make most of the jewelry I wear
Things like tank tops I will shop almost any brand - I go through white tank tops like water

demin - jbrand, rich & skinny, TR
work - theory, lamb, juicy, ella moss dresses, sometimes banana or club monaco
gym/fleece - lululemon, a&f
dresses - alice + olivia, black halo, milly, mint, imperial
casual - james perse, c&c california, ella moss, velvet, juicy, vince, splendid
shoes/boots - stuart w, london sole, frye, mbmj, joie, belle by sigerson morrison, haviannas
coats - mike&chris, mackage, rudsak

Everything from guess, marciano and bebe, aritzia. most of my jeans come from there.I wear brands like habitual and r&r. I like ed hardy for casual tees and tna for swetahirts.
I've never really seen the point in designer shoes ( they only get wrecked since they touch the ground all the time) except for my one pair of michael kors. I like Uggs for winter boots.
LV and Coach for bags
And if I'm looking for something cute to wear only a few times and I don't care about quality I go to sirens

1. Banana Republic: Year after year, I realize my favorite classic pieces come from BR. The quality seems to be slipping a bit lately (my new wool cardigan is kind of scratchy), but overall it's the the asesethic and comfort for the cost that makes this one of my favorites.

2. Rebecca Taylor: Love the girly details that aren't too overwhelming. I typically adore everything she does, and even if I don't, I'd probably still wear the piece.

3. Theory: Makes my favorite wife beater tanks (Jimi) and they're a good place for solid basics, such as LBD and blazers. It sort of runs in the same category as BR for me in terms of classic looks, but the quality and cut of Theory is typically better.

4. Elie Tahari: Same as Theory but compensates with more unique details. This can be hit or miss, either too old bordering on grandma-y or exactly up my alley.

5. Furst Premium Denim: This is a brand only sold at LF stores but I swear they're the only brand of jean that fit my body perfectly without tailoring. Soft high quality fabric, great fit, they don't stretch out and best of all, the perfect inseam (no tailoring!). I love them better than 7s, Joes and TR. This is my holy grail of jean.

6. Anthropologie: I love all of Anthro's stuff since it's so unique and one-of-a-kind (as much as you can get with a chain store). They have the details that really draw me to certain pieces of clothes, and some of my favorite "statement" dresses and tops come from here.

7. Nine West: Shoes I can go back and forth on but in terms of pricing, trend and quality, I typically go with Nine West. If I want a funky shoe or follow a trend that's bound to go kaput in a year, Nine West has that with decent leather quality and comfort.

8. Alexander Wang, Philip Lim, Helmut Lang, Yoji Yamamoto: It's hilarious since they all have different looks and visions, but these designers all hit a certain niche for me: unique designs with interesting textures and details. They all put out pieces that makes me feel like it's made for me and exactly my style, even though I've never seen anything like it before (that makes no sense but I can't really describe it, haha).

9. Black Halo: For that bombshell over-the-top look that I can never find an opportunity to wear.

For my all around department store, I like Nordstrom since their customer service and selection is always consistently great. For the higher end stores, I'm still on the fence about Bloomingdales, Saks or Neimans. The CS at these places is atrocious so I'm still hunting for that perfect department store sans snotty sales associates.
