I’m surprised so many questions were on the problems people may have with bags like shopping addictions, financial issues, etc. I’d like to see more on how we are all happy with and enjoying our bags & buying.
Yeah, it’s a bit forensic with those topics and I did get a little irritated with all the questions about reselling and buying pre-loved. That’s why I like the questions on this thread, because it’s more about people’s positive experiences.
How often do you change bags, and how long does it take you to decide on one?
I try to change my day to day bags every few weeks. I no longer store them in their dust bags so I see what I have and it makes me use what I have.
Do you ever regret your decision later in the day?
No, unless I end up some place unexpectedly that has no accommodations for my purse (extra chair) and my Clipa can’t be used.
Do you ever pick out your outfit around the bag you want to use?
Only if I am carrying my red bag.
Do you accessorize with different straps and charms?
I love to mix and match with other LV purse straps. I don’t own any charms.
How often do you go thru your collection?
Purses, I tend to rotate well for the most part. SLG’s are another story. I don’t rotate them enough. I am too lazy to switch out to different wallets unless it’s to downsize for date night.
How often do you feel the itch to get a new bag?
Lately, not that often. I notice with me it seems to come in spurts. A bag I may have ignored suddenly becomes a must have because it suddenly meets a need (I buy most of my bags to serve a purpose like travel, date night etc...) or so I tell myself and I start to obsess over it and must have it.
Do you notice others bags and does it influence what you wear or buy?
I do notice others bags, especially the fake ones. I don’t ever get influenced by others bags though.

If I regret my decision later in the day it would be because I didn't think out what my day entailed.

Sometimes. I only have one charm, no extra straps, and a couple of twillys. Most of the time I'm in too much of a hurry to get out the door to fiddle with things like that.

Depends on what you mean. I check them all before I put them back in their bags to be sure they're clean and undamaged. I keep track of wear so that I know if a bag is getting ignored and might end up gifted or listed.

- I always have to bring a tote (I have a 2 year old so most of the stuff in there is his!). This gets changed 1-2 times a month. Sometimes I bring a backpack if we are going to the playground. I only have 1 backpack in my collection so this never changes. In the backseat of my car I have a small box with 2-3 crossbody bags in their dust bags that I love to wear if we decide to dash into the shops or pop in quickly somewhere. I throw an old cardigan over these and a bunch of (clean) nappies so it looks like there’s nothing worth stealing.

- I can go months without thinking about bags and then get into a frenzy (it’s like a dream/nightmare depending on how you look at it!) where I’m reading about the history of handbags, researching different types and obsessing and comparing prices for weeks. For example, the last time I got on TPF was 4 years ago! On average I buy one a year but in the frenzy I’m in now I’m serious about getting 3 Longchamps in one go (because I need them apparently - I have an upcoming trip as my excuse!) and eyeballing a structured bag from Kate Spade. Also wanting something in red or beige/nude.

- Yes! Also noticing where the bags are being worn. For example it was nearly 40 degrees Celsius the other day so I was in the pool and there was a lady walking around quite well dressed and wearing a gorgeous Kate Spade crossbody with top handles. I was trying so hard not to look!

Well, one habit has changed; I nearly always switch bags in the evening before my next workday. I get out my bag, put my stuff in it and think of an outfit to wear. Especially when the kids are here the mornings are more like a circus so it's easier when I got my stuff ready to go.
