What are your favorite jewelry designers who use 18k gold?

Hello,

I would love to gain some insight from all of the knowledgeable TPFers. What do you buy when you're not buying Cartier, Tiffany, VCA, etc.? I'm looking for obscure brands that aren't mentioned with the frequency of all of the big design houses.

I'm tired of seeing all of these contemporary designers that use gold-plated metals or merely 14k gold. I want to learn about designers that create beautiful pieces in 18k gold. Where does one go when he/she does not want something so "cookie-cutter"?

Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions! I greatly look forward to reading them and hope that this thread can become a wonderful resource and reference guide in the future!

The wife still likes the Faberge line of jewelry, mostly the eggs as they are still being made in small quantity. There is a seller if fine gold work from Italy being sold in Nordstrums, his unique finish to every piece of jewelry is placing a tiny ruby on the inside if the item that touches the skin of the wearer, said to be a good luck charm. I will post his name later, his work is well made & delicate-stevie... I believe his name is Roberto Cavilli...

Thank you for the suggestion! Do you have any personal experience with the brand?

I love the simplicity of the designs! Thank you!

I love Piaget! Do you have any pieces that you'd like to share? [emoji4]

Thank you for all of the recommendations! It was very informative! The Netali Nissim jewelry is especially pretty! [emoji7]

Roberto Coin has some great classic pieces. Do you have any pics of your favorite designs?

I don't have pics right now, but I'll take some and share. I have a simple gold star, a tiny treasures cactus, my engagement ring, and my anniversary tennis bracelet.

Judith Ripka and Temple St. Clair. I'm not sure if Temple uses 14 or 18k but her designs are so unique.

These are very luxurious!

Hey Violet Blue, I'm wearing my ring so I thought I would start with taking a picture of it. I totally forgot how hard it is to take a good picture of a ring. But here is my best shot. View attachment 3241157

Wow! [emoji7] That ring is just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing it in this thread!

Temple St Clair uses 18k, never 14k. Older designs used 22k.

Other designers that use 18k include John Hardy, Ippolita, Mimi So, Chopard, Bulgari, VCA and Elizabeth Locke.

Vintage 18k pieces are also worth looking into.

If ur asking stevie for experience, I dont own, but have seen many of the items from Roberto, they were 18kt gold, wonderfully finished but very well made-every piece did have the classic ruby on skin gem & the gems were very nice quality as small as they were-stevie...:D:cool:
