This is what my top 5 designer bags list would look like (I'm going for classic, iconic styles coupled with a few edgier trendsetters here):

1. Hermes Birkin (CROC!! LOL)
2. Chanel Reissue (227) or Jumbo Flap
3. Balenciaga brief
4. Chloe Paddington
5. And a wildcard bag - maybe a YSL Muse II, a Prada degrade/gauffre, or a LV denim pleaty

I'm not sure if you are referring to just the designers but IMO the top 5 designer bags or must haves would be the classic from each designer which is timeless and hold it's value well.

1) Hermes Birkin
2) Hermes Kelly
3) Chanel 2.55 reissue
4) Bottega Veneta Cabat
5) This is a tough one but if you like Balenciaga then the motorcycle bags, for LV the speedy etc I'm sure you get my drift.

You know, I've read somewhere that the top three bags a woman should own are:

1. Louis Vuitton Speedy
2. Chanel 2.55
3. Hermes Birkin

Obviously, to each their own and I don't agree with the above 100%
