I was debating on which fabric to get the Deauville, I personally love tweed, but I was worried about how the fabric would handle with it being used as a travel/beach bag. I would love to hear your thoughts on the tweed material as well as the light color! (I'm such a beige girly, but thinking a darker color would make more sense if light colors are hard to clean)I second Chanel deauville, I have used mine (pink tweed) for beach and pool while on vacation. I recently purchased the Givenchy raffia voyou and haven't used it yet but believe it would be good beach bag. There's always the Neverfull GM.
I haven't had any issues!I was debating on which fabric to get the Deauville, I personally love tweed, but I was worried about how the fabric would handle with it being used as a travel/beach bag. Not totally sure how OP meant it but I assumed the latter based on the word "designer" being included in post title. I've lived in FL/Hawaii most of my life so lots of beach time. I use a regular beach bag purchased at Honolulu surf Co. It's aqua colored fabric with a cute design on front, rope handles, has gotten plenty of use and looks like crap after years of sand, stains, etcI’m puzzled by a lot of these recommendations. When I think beach, I think sand, salt water, bleaching sun rays, spilled drinks & stray globs of sunscreen. So, I’ve never chosen expensive leather or cloth bags for this use.
My choices have always been 1) preloved (relatively low cost) premium designer bags that have style but that I also don’t mind getting a little banged up or 2) very inexpensive bags that are highly functional as well as waterproof to protect my belongings from the elements and theft.
How is everyone in the sand & ocean with bags like Chanel Deauvilles, Loewe straw bags or Dior Book totes???I celebrate style but I’m genuinely curious on how you’re comfortably using yet protecting the bags. Or is “beach bag” code for looking cute pool side or on deck in a controllable environment?
TIA for insight!
