What are good "investment" pieces out now?

lol hilarious!
Ergo, more reason to invest in LV rather than other brands because i am constantly reading about how LVs are lasting people decades! :)
I agree with you.
IMO LV (with Chanel and Hermes) is quite a good investment, at least if you compare it to other brands. Except for some special pieces, I like to sell my bags and use that money to fund new purchases and LV works great for this!

I dont consider buying lv and other designer bags is investment, but let say it's a smarter way to make ur money value more, and get more (loose less) when you resell them. I rarely see an old lv got sold for much more than they retailed. At least doesnt worth the time, all the fee and ur money being held.
I would buy LE ir seasonak but still classic, not out if the orbit. Like the 06 stephen. I would die for one (the cuir) if I have to pay like 300s more tha retail. But I dont see other line that I would go that crazy. Know what I mean

Also, I think if you are planning to have a piece as an investment piece you have to set aside and resist the temptation to use it - play with it! I bought a Cerise bucket and in carrying it got the vachetta all spotty with water so it was not worth nearly as much as I wanted it to be when I decided to sell it.

I find that fine jewelry is more of an investment than handbags

Jewelry is only good as an investment if someone didn't overpay to begin with.

I find too many people I know overpay dramatically for jewelry.

A friend of mine went to St. Maarteen, got lured in by "Duty Free" and paid certificate price for two diamond rings. She'll be lucky to sell it in 10 years for 1/3 of what she paid for. Another friend bought a bangle for $2000 when others of similar kind and quality can be had for 1/10 of that price.

A FYI for anyone interested in jewelry, certificate and appraisal prices are adjusted for future inflation and insurance, which means that they are at least 3x what the jewel is actually worth.

At least with LV you know what the retail is and should be.
