Cute, but I decided that I would not really use it, so I returned it and traded up to a Midnight Oak leather Madeline, although I had lusted for the saffiano and smooth leather version, which was more expensivr. So today, like Bali Hai, Lord & Taylor, and it's fabulous sales was calling me

I traded up again to the large Madeline of my dreams, midnight violet saffiano with a more plum shaded smooth leather, and headed home:

I'm afraid my pictures do not do my new bag justice. The combination of the very dark violet of the saffiano with the plum shade of the smooth leather is so gorgeous. And I love the satin lining in the same plum color. I'm in ecstasy.

Ohh, I love your gorgeous dark violet saffiano!!! :) And I LOVE your beautiful pics of Boylston Street! I lived in Somerville and Cambridge for about 14 years. Just moved out to the "burbs" (gulp) during October of 2012 after I got married. I miss the city all the time...it's an hour from Shrewsbury, and that feels like a few light years.

Thanks, but, wait there's more. I bought a Black Violet saffiano Madeline ($458 retail) for $195 with the Lord & Taylor discounts. But, I live in walking distance, so the money I save with the discounts ends up being dwarfed by my somewhat too frequent purchases.

congrats!!! i had the blue version of this bag once and it was dreamy!! i can totally see why this was the one of your dreams...the combination between the leathers are just great and the bag can HOLD A TON!! enjoy your new beauty

Love that color! Congratulations on this Madeline and the one you will trade her in for this time tomorrow. Can't wait for number three...four.... ;) what are we up too? :smile1:
