WG Holiday Pendant 2022 or WG Chalcedony Pendant??

Dear ladies..

I am in a pinch, my SA just offered me the HP2022 pendant because initially my friend asked me and i was just helping her to ask. That time it was all allocated out. She has since gotten hers..

I wasnt intending to get the HP2022 because i had sold my HP2020 and the 2018 YG yellow MOP ones. I was just over pendants in a way that they wouldnt stay nicely centered. However, i am feeling a little Fomo now (and also missing the Va pendant in the sense that i feel like i shld have at least 1 for days when i want to be a bit more than a dainty solitaire necklace)and i am not a green person. However, i do like pastel light bluish mint color (though I prefer pink purple shades but i find those harder to match as jewellery pieces, and may not age well). This color feels like it would age well? I dont know.

I recently acquired the 5 motif bracelets in Pave Onyx, and going to get my Chalcedony bracelet soon.

I currently pair it with the Cartier CdC solitaire necklace, it is very dainty, barely there, matches anything.. even chalcedony.

In the future, i considered getting a 10 motif Yg onyx or WG chalcedony necklace. But I am also considering now maybe Chalcedony pendant may suit my lifestyle better. I prefer simple pieces on my neck for day to day, i love the look of a 20 motif, but i am not a long necklace girl for the daily.

For those of you who got the HP2022, how do you style it? Would you go for the Chalcedony pendant or the HP2022 if you were me? The one my SA got for me seems like a nice bluish mint green shade on pic which is what i like. But i wonder if in person it will pull more green? I dont like green much at all, only exceptional is pastel minty green.

P/s: can i also ask if porcelain attracts dust or fingerprint marks like carnelian or onyx? I sold the guilloche pendant mainly because guilloche attracts so much dust or fingerprint marks that it drove me mad. Plus i dont like so much metal nowadays. Prefer color or pave. ♡♡☆

I think you should get the HP2022, if u don’t like it , u can always sell and get the chalcedony pendant anytime. Whereas you wouldn’t be able to get the HP later.

Also the HP is quite a causal piece that I pair with jeans and T-shirt.

And it doesn’t attract much dust IMO.

Yes it is my initial train of thought, but i do feel i should only buy what i super love too.. so am torn.. it is really mainly fomo if i get it..


Do you wear bracelets or earrings too? What do you pair with?

If I could only pick 1 pendant out of those 2 options I would get the HP but that’s because I prefer the color. The Chalcedony though will have the benefit of slightly changing tone depending on what color you’re wearing underneath. So it’s like you have multiple pendants!

I currently wear my 2022 HP with my turquoise sweets (they are far enough away from each other so they look like they match), diamond studs, or mostly with no earrings.

I’ve also layered it with my 2020 HP and my 2021 HP.

I find it goes with lots of colors so don’t think that’s a worry at all. It will pop and blend depending on what color you wear. And no I haven’t noticed any dust or fingerprints. The diamond in the middle kind of prevents you from touching it.

Sometimes I just wear it on it’s own. or round diamond studs.

I mix my metals, so bracelets depends on my mood, I might wear WG or RG perlee bracelets stack Or tennis bracelets.

It’s a pendant, so really it’s a no fuss piece.

But of cos if u don’t love the HP don’t get it, no point in getting something u don’t like. Good luck w your choice ♥️

The holiday pendant is not really limited or exclusive. I'm from SG too. I texted my SA to enquire about the stone colour in late Sep and she tactfully informed me that the HP was by allocation only. I assumed that meant I was not in her list and I had not followed up with her since then. Out of the blue, my SA texted me last week and was told that I was allocated for the holiday season pendant. I thank her for the offer and politely declined as I prefer YG. So if you do not super love it.... do not buy it just because of fomo. I was glad that I was offered in mid Nov as the hype is over for me and I can make a more rational decision.

I wear mine with WG diamond studs and clothing wise, I like wearing it with white tops, shirts and t-shirts. I tried it with the WG Guilloche and it goes well but I did not purchase at the time. I am thinking of WG hammered instead of Guilloche but undecided at the moment. Green or blue is not my top pick for colors but this color was unique and when I saw it in person, I started visualizing what I would I wear with it. The color doesn't pull green though; I will say that pics does not do this pendant justice and it is a softer version of the Tiffany blue, more like a VCA blueish green. I love mine and only if you love it, should you get it!

Honestly to me it does not sound like you love it. I would save my money for a piece you love. Did you consider any pave pendant for a necklace? How about a small WG pave Frivole pendant, or vintage pave WG pendant? But if I had studs I would wear the HP with them. Since I don’t I would wear it with my sweet pave studs. If I had to wear a bracelet it would be one of my WG perlee bangles, and on my left arm I would wear my ering (platinum) and a SS Rolex.

On the daily, i dont usually wear earrings, my long hair cover them mostly and the mask requirement makes my earrings collection go to rest. I like to sometimes wear my CC studs eith my WG jewellery.

Only issue is it doesnt go with my 5 motif bracelets (which are likely to be my go-to on rotation basis, unless i am wearing YG that day).

I did consider the frivole pave, but i am still an alhambra girl, i like the colors that the stones provide, though i also like the bling from diamonds.

Yes i think my issue is it would be hard to wear together with my 5 motif bracelets which are either onyx or chalcedony. I think the chalcedony pendant may go better with the onyx pave bracelet than then HP , although I would prob keep it simple and go with a dainty solitaire necklace.

I only have 1 other WG soft chain bracelet from Hermes (gambade), that I sometimes wear when I want to be low key or I may have a rough day e.g. going cycling, hiking etc. So i may wear the HP with just this bracelet and my WG rings. It would be another outfit in itself, but I would miss my 5 motif bracelets on such a day. Lol

That is true, if i do buy it, it may be 50% due to fomo.. though i now prefer WG over YG. If the oendant color was dark greenish, i would reject immediately. But now that i see this light pastel minty bluey green shade, i am drawn. I dont like turquoise becos it seemed too bright blue for me. I much prefer the tiffany green shade. So if i miss this year's HP, i wondered if i will regret it if the next few years are YG or RG

I get it. Of all my jewelry, pendants excite me the least. If you are trying to build your WG collection, you like color and bling, then I actually would get this holiday pendant. I can see myself changing my mind about it in future years, and reach for it. I do wear my jewelry in stages. I'm a lazy jewelry wearer, and not change my staples for 3-4 years at a time. Then when I'm bored I need something else. Another suggestion. I'm upgrading my diamond pendant because of all the necklaces I have, I wear my diamond pendant the most. I never take it off. But I'm bored of this stone and want a bigger one. But I would still get the HP since it does meet so many of your requirements.

That was the main reason I was willing to try this year's HP pendant as the color was on the lighter side of the color scale. If it had been a darker or brighter color, I would have immediately said no. It is more subdued but I did see several and they did vary in color so hopefully the one your SA has reserved for you is the one you like.

You should try it on if possible and see if it speaks to you. I was also on the fence but ended up getting one.
