Michael Kors Watermelon vs. mandarin?

I don't like orange but own mandarin. It is not as orange as you may think. I passed on watermelon.

Tangerine is a much brighter orange than mandarin. Mandarin is an orangish-red.

I agree with Ubo. I don't own either shade because I'm not convinced I would get a lot of use from a bag in those shades since I don't really have that in my wardrobe. Mandarin is a reddish orange & Watermelon is a pinkish orange similar to a salmon coral shade. I have not seen Tangerine IRL, only online but it seems to be more of a bright, almost neon shade.

I don't think there is a color called cobalt. But electric blue is similar to sapphire. Sapphire is a slightly darker blue than electric blue if you look at them side by side.

Oh okay I thought that someone posted new bags and the color was Cobalt. Maybe I was thinking of another forum..hmmm. Good to know Electric Blue is close to Sapphire. That was a gooorgeous color!

I had a tangerine bag awhile back. It's an orange orange. Not really neon.

Thanks so much!!! That was very helpful I think I was hoping mandarin was less Orange. I was attracted to the Tangerine color last year and bought a bag, but each day when I got dressed it just seemed too bright to go with anything, so I ended up returning it. I don't want to have that problem again with this one. Do you happen to have a comparison of mandarin and tangerine? That might help me make final decision

I don't have a comparison photo, but I do know that mandarin is probably a bit brighter than tangerine was, but it's a red orange rather than the orange orange of tangerine. If you thought tangerine wad bright, you'll probably think mandarin is bright. I was torn between watermelon and mandarin for my next bag. I wanted mandarin simply because of how bright it pops, but ultimately decided on watermelon because I just love coral pink so much. I figured that since mandarin is one of hose colors that MK keeps bringing back, I'll be able to pick it up next year if I still wanted it.

Also, melbo's comparison photo looks pretty spot on. I compared both colors at Dillard's the other day and mandarin is definitely much brighter than watermelon. They're almost the same color tone, but mandarin has more orange and watermelon more pink. If pink coral is what you want, I'd recommend watermelon over mandarin.

Hmm I think I ever heard cobalt color for selma before..if I am not wrong.. its a very much older color..

Thanks for that MDT - I really love the watermelon, but the bag I want doesn't come in that color, so I guess if I'm going to get that bag I will have to get the mandarin. I appreciate all the feedback - it really helps!
