Ladies, I need some help... Does anyone out there have a comparison of the new watermelon color vs mandarin? I found a bag I love on eBay but it's listed as mandarin and the ones I've seen seem awfully bright orange. Seller swears the color is not bright orange, more of a coral. I really like the watermelon color, it seems more of a pink coral, which was what I was hoping for, not the day-glo Orange (which I think is tangerine?)
Any help or opinion is appreciated, and if you happen to have both and can post a photo that would be wonderful!

Watermelon is a coral with more red.. And I wasn't looking for that at the time. This is a horrible horrible comparison picture, but I didn't want to unwrap the watermelon bag because she was going back that same day. In the mean time, I hope this gives you an idea.
Left is watermelon right is mandarin.

So is Watermelon a coral with more red and Mandarin a color with more orange? I haven't seen Watermelon irl...I've seen Mandarin and I loved it. Then again I'm a sucker for corals of any shade.

Okay gotcha, thanks. The shades all look so different on different websites. I think the worse for me is when a bag looks vibrant on a website and then when it arrives the color is dull. I've sent several bags back due to this.

Yes! Completely agree. It makes me sad. A tip is to unwrap a bag near a window and carry it around your house and if you can outdoors. Sometimes a house is too shaded and won't make the bag look as vibrant. This happened with my raspberry hamilton. I put it nearly window and brought it outside and bam! It was a bolt of lighting, lol. Love that color!

Good idea! I remember buying a saffiano MK bag in Sapphire (returned because the style didn't work for me) and that color was goooorgeous!!! So vibrant - in that case the online photos didn't do it justice. If Electric Blue or Cobalt is similar I might need a bag in one of those colors! lol

Thanks so much!!! That was very helpful I think I was hoping mandarin was less Orange. I was attracted to the Tangerine color last year and bought a bag, but each day when I got dressed it just seemed too bright to go with anything, so I ended up returning it. I don't want to have that problem again with this one. Do you happen to have a comparison of mandarin and tangerine? That might help me make final decision

No, I wasn't around for that color, but maybe you can find something in Google?
P. S. I was looking at Tangerine and Mandarin is not close at all. It's definitely more red! It has a little orange but not enough to classify it as an orange bag.

Tangerine is a much brighter orange than mandarin. Mandarin is an orangish-red.

I don't think there is a color called cobalt. But electric blue is similar to sapphire. Sapphire is a slightly darker blue than electric blue if you look at them side by side.

I wasn't around for Blue Cobalt, but I have definitely seen some bags with that description in the early Selma days.
Here are a couple links

In some pictures it looks like an electric blue and it others it's very muted.

International sites have a tendency to use generic color names rather than the appropriate MK color. That first bag isn't even a cobalt color. I think it's closer to turquoise or aqua. One of the first MK cobalt blues was called "cadet" then came sapphire and electric blue. I know because I was looking for cadet for a long time (after it was discontinued) but ended up with the newer sapphire when it came out.

As usual, you're probably right. It's the lack of consistency that causes all the confusion.
