What is the beautiful purple base of the automaton? It has blue and gold too? It’s a gorgeous stone! And also, what’s the green base of the other one?
Sorry I don’t remember and though we asked the name. I only recall it isn’t a stone well known I never heard of. Was a bit like tiger eye family but not real TE … and the green one no idea :confused1:

I think the purple may be dumortierite.

Perhaps the green is aventurine with amethyst rim.

I have a book on VCA somewhere. I'll see if I can find out for sure

My favorite of all aka ballerinas 🩰 and automaton
a bit of trivia: the ballerina clip with Mystery Set sapphires is a relatively old design. it was introduced in their 2003 collection, a Midsummer Night's Dream, which also featured the Folie des Prés pieces that later ended up in their permanent high jewelry offerings.

and so this clip is probably popular, like the Folie des Prés pieces, that it ended up in their Figures Féminines Signature (permanent) collection <3

thanks for the pics!

Thanks for the historic explanation it is always interesting ! Yes they call it a fairy 🧚🏼‍♂️. They engrave in every watch a fairy (this is a hidden motif and they told us that detail at the VCA Manufacture in Geneva when we visited. I think it is a really cute detail :hbeat:

Ah yes of course, a fairy not a ballerina. Thank you for the correction <3

This is a watch. The glass isn’t a sapphire glass as always but a DIAMOND (yes yes you heard a diamond !!). So prepare to 💸💸💸
Hmm, the pictures seem to have re-ordered themselves. The one that caught my fancy is the third from the left, at the centre of the top row. It has a big green gemstone and a lot of sparkle.
