I hand wash mine. I use the laundress detergent and let it soak a little in warm water then I rinse it and I use the laundress stain bar for stains. After I rinse it completely I open it up and hang dry it. After that I steam it if it’s wrinkled. I don’t trust my dry cleaner to send it there.
Thank you! I don’t want anyone but me handling my scarves.

Unfortunately it’s so true. I’ve had so many bad experiences with dry cleaners that they have either burned my clothes, or destroyed it in someway, and sometimes even lost my expensive items. I got so frustrated that I purchased a high quality steamer and just use it after I dryell my cloths. The money I saved with not going to the dry cleaners quickly paid for the charge of the steamer. Also the cost of dryell is quite cheap compared to dry cleaning fees. I never dryell more than one or two pieces of cloths (for example a suit) at a time.

I don't know if I'd be game to wash that one. I have (very gently) hand washed a Sprouse Leopard stole with a weak detergent mix and it turned out fine but it's a different composition to your shawl.
