I few years ago a purchased a pre-loved Sarah. It was practically and no problems with stretch out cc slot but I think that is because of the style. My only issue was that after a year of use I had to have it re-glazed. LV took care of it free of charge because the wallet was less than 18 months old.

I think pre-love is okay. I would be wary of purchasing a pre-loved Insolite Organizer wallet because they are notorious for having stretched out CC slots. HTHS

Thank you!

Shortly after writing that last post I ended up at LV...quite by accident but the timing was perfect.

I looked at all the wallets mentioned on this thread, and especially the two that I had been looking at online (ZC and Clemence.)

In the end...Clemence won me over! Actually it wasn't close. I really liked the overall shape of Clemence better, and prefer the way it opened. Here she is, so happy to add to the collection with a MIF!

Thanks to everyone on this thread who shared photos and opinions.

My contribution to this thread. I've got 2 lv wallets. I've owned a lot of oroton, then I've upgraded to prada. It was similar to the emilie but it look beaten up before it was even a year old. What my wallet requirements are, it needs to be bright in colour so that I can see it inside my bag straight away, long so that I don't need to fold the bills, it needs to have a flap for privacy reason and a zippered coin space.

my first one is DA insolite. I missed out on the coloured interior which is a shame but it's ok.
Pros: I've always preferred the long wallet because I can't handle fiddling or the need to fold the bills first before putting it in my wallet. I don't like it when people can look over or inside the contents of my wallet. And I like it when I can have easy access to my cards.
Cons: the glazing cracks after 6 months but lv fixed it. the cc slots on top stretch out even though I've never double up on cards.

My new wallet which is the emilie.
Pros: flap for privacy, card slots outside that is easily accessible. great pop of colour. zippered coin space which is great because I don't have to unfold it if I only need coins.

Con: I'll update you after a few months but I am loving it.

Before buying the emilie, I considered the zippy wallet because everyone seems to like it but I didn't like the fact that it's too open, the zipping/ unzipping but I'm sure it becomes second nature, what really got to me is the zipper gets in the way when you have to take out the cards. It's the same with the zcp.

Here is one of my favorite wallets, the curieuse in midnight blue. I love everything about it. The size, the leather, the organization, the removable pouch....everything is just stellar.

View attachment 2901682

I also love the zippy compact wallet. Great wallet for smaller bags, keeps me very streamlined, but if you carry a lot of cash it can become bulky in the middle. The deep pocket for bills is pretty deep and takes some adjustment, also this is not a wallet for people who accumulate a lot of coins. I love the layout of this wallet and its size makes it really practical. When I am not using it, I miss it.

Today I am using my Emilie wallet. It is much like the curieuse except without the removable coin pouch, but the layout is similar. I like how slim and carefree it is. It holds more than it seems, and I love the yellow burst of color when I open it!

Here is my insolite wallet in DE with red interior. I use this more for travel than anything else, and occasionally as a clutch. I like the organization for when I have several different currencies. I don't like that it is hard to see and organize my cash without pulling it out, unlike some of my other wallets. It is also on the large side for me. Despite some of its shortcomings, I won't get rid of it, as I do travel extensively and it suits my needs for currency organization.

I use my insolite coin purse EVERY DAY. I have emergency cash as well as medical and insurance cards which I keep with me at all times. Because I change wallets often, it helps speed up the process by organizing myself this way.

This is nearly the perfect compact wallet. I say nearly because I need to fold the cash, which I don't like doing. If they had made it with a long pocket spanning the length of the wallet, it would be perfect. Anyway, I love how cute it is, and I love it as a quick grab and go.

My zippy coin purse in epi fuchsia.

I know there is a lot of love for the zippy coin purse here and I wanted to love it too but don't. It gets the least love from me, because I often use cash, I don't like folded cash, it doesn't hold a lot of it, and often bills get torn in the zipper. If I didn't have the insolite coin purse it could be good as a supplemental wallet. Right now it is just in a drawer with quick cash to pay for food delivery and petty cash for my housekeeper. It is not living up to its potential.

Great for people who use mostly credit cards, a little emergency cash and coins....that is it.

Thank you for your reviews & pictures...great information----you have a beautiful collection of wallets! :D

Thank you OP for starting this thread. Photographing my LV wallets made me look at them and assess them and my other designer wallets. It was good to reflect upon what I love and dislike about each. So, as far as my LV wallets are concerned, I would rank them as follows:

1- Curieuse

2- Zippy Compact Wallet

3&4- (Tie)- Insolite Coin Purse & Emilie

5- Zippy Wallet

6- Insolite

7- Zippy Coin Purse

You're quite welcome! I'm so glad it's helping others too...I am seeing so many beautiful wallets that I think would be functional for me. I think this will be my reference thread for wallets #2, #3, #4 also.... :graucho:

I agree! Thanks for starting this, Consultantmom.

Ok, on to my reviews and contribution to this thread.
I've owned 5 LV Wallets, now down to 4.
My first wallet was Sarah (old model). I used that wallet for 5 years straight, until the stitching fell apart on one side. Since LV will not repair it, she's now retired, and out of rotation.
Pros: Loved the organization, plenty of cc slots, and coin compartment.
Cons: Aside from the obvious wear and tear, the zipper has tarnished quite a bit.

I decided to try Emilie, this time in Damier Azur. Having less cc slots really made me assess what I needed to carry on a daily basis. All of those retail membership cards I used to carry were added into an app in my iPhone. Love technology!
Pros: Loved the style, very pretty in DA, easy to access cards, cash, and coins (especially when your at a check out counter!), reminded me of Sarah minus the bulk, fits nicely in my smaller bags without taking up too much room.
Cons: Within a month, the glazing along the flap began to come off. Returned her, and vowed I'd never buy another wallet from LV. Hah!

I strayed from LV wallets for a bit, and bought a few MK wallets. I just love the color options MK offers.

Decided to give LV another try. Bought a Vernis Elise preloved. She's absolutely gorgeous to look at, but that's about it. I like the idea of a compact wallet with lots of compartments, but not this one. It's my least favorite wallet.
Pros: For me, there aren't any.
Cons: Tri-fold wallets don't work for me. Not enough cc slots. Vernis leather is too stiff, wallet becomes bulky when you add too many bills, coins, and cards. With vernis, you have to be careful with receipts and ink transfer. I ruined my pomme cles :(

Still wanting a compact wallet for my Favorites, I got the zippy coin purse. I used this for 9 months straight after I bought it. It's my go-to wallet when I want to take a break from full-size wallets.
Pros: Compact, zipper runs smooth, you can double up on cc slots, leaves plenty of room in my smaller purses.
Cons: Although it's a coin purse, I rarely ever put coins inside because it takes up too much space. Folding cash and receipts gets old, especially when you're in a hurry.

I just got Clemence yesterday. I love the pop of color inside.
Pros: Excellent organization, 8 cc slots, zippered coin compartment, plenty of room for bills and receipts, slim and not too bulky, fits in my smaller purses with room to spare.
Cons: I've only had it for a day, but the zipper pull seems flimsy. Hopefully it won't cost too much when I need to replace it.

You're welcome! Thanks for all of your reviews and pictures....they are great, so helpful!! :smile1:

I've owned a lot of LV wallets and I've found I'm more of a larger wallet person!

My favorite one at the moment is my Trunks & Locks Sarah wallet. I like how the flap is pretty large and folds over to cover the front of the wallet.
Then, my other older style Sarah wallets. My favorite is my Black MC Sarah with grenade interior.

Pros for the Sarah: not bulky, easy access to the interior and does NOT open flat (I like to keep my money and cc's private when I'm paying for something at a register), plenty of cc slots, areas for receipts/bills, and zippered coin pocket.
Cons: some people have complained of curling flaps--that look like wings over time (I think people might pull the flap up from the side instead of lifting up near the snap) Also, the cc slots might curl outwards but supposedly LV has fixed this....
My next favorite is the Zippy- I have it in Pomme vernis.
Pros: vernis makes the zippy really gorgeous. I love the shine of the zipper and tons of interior slip pockets, cc slots, also opens accordion style which I like
Cons: heavier than canvas, bulkier than Sarah, tends to get bulky if you overstuff and the zipper might get "wavy", I get annoyed having to zip/unzip all the time to access money

For a small wallet, my hands-down favorite is the zcp- which I also have in pomme vernis! I use it inside my pochettes and Eva's.
Pros:I love the compact style and the vernis is gorgeous. Room for your DL and a bunch of cc's. Room for folded bills and some coins.
Cons: you need to fold your bills and it gets heavy if you have too many coins. Zipper can get annoying - I'm used to a snap :)

You can get great deals on the pre-loved sites for most of these wallet styles! HTH

Although I have a few smaller wallets that I use on special occasions, I have been a large wallet person as well!

I've had a 'zippy' style wallet for years and one of the main reasons I really like it (besides the great organization) is b/c of the exact reason you stated for the Sarah...it doesn't open flat & is a bit more private when I am paying at a store. BUT, as I stated in another post earlier, I never zipped it---so maybe a combination of a snap wallet with zippy organization/privacy is what I'll end up with. :p

I am looking forward to seeing some of the other wallets IRL that members have posted though...I'm keeping an open mind. :smile1:

It looks like that your have stuffed this wallet full.

There were tiny cracks in the canvas, where the stitches came apart, and the repairs dept will not touch it when that happens. Shoot, with nothing more to lose, I busted out my sewing kit and "repaired" it myself.
Not too bad, if I do say so myself! 😁

Good job! How did you stitch it? Did you use a saddle stitch? I've found this helpful for repairing some of my leather goods that weren't LVs...

Also, my contribution to the thread:

I've had the Pocket Organizer in the Taiga leather for about a month now... Now I know what you all on here are probably going to say; that it isn't a real wallet...

I use it as my everyday wallet, and I put cash in the pocket on the back and on the two pockets on the left side inside the wallet. I also fold up some cash and place it in to the pocket labeled Louis Vuitton when I need to...

And there's still plenty of room left for credit cards.

Now my phone is on it's charger ATM, so I created some renderings to give you an idea of how I use my PO...

This looks great. Seeing this makes me want to consider it again. But I really want the empreinte cles then I start thinking that I could save the money and get the empreinte speedy 25. Hmmm.
