Wallet or card case?

I think it really depends on your needs on a day to day basis. I have a YSL card holder and it has held up incredibly well; I rarely carry cash with me and have a separate pouch for coins. I sometimes use my chanel o zip coin purse for cards/cash if i need. I also have the LV Victorine wallet which I have been using and have found to be very useful. If you are someone who likes to carry a lot of cards (credit card, bank card, loyalty/rewards cards, gift cards etc) + cash + coins then it would make sense for you to go the large wallet route. if you're like me and just carry a few cards with some cash (sometimes), then you could probably get away with downsizing to a card holder of some sort. what works for other people may not work for you and vice versa!
How do you find the YSL to hold up to wear? I just received my YSL monogram envelope wallet and I noticed right out of the packaging a bit of wear on it. Little bit of glaze rubbing off in a few spots and a tiny crack on interior piping where it folds over. Is this normal right off the bat?

Good old feng shui says it's bad luck to always fold your bills (with a card holder or compact wallet) as it suggests that the person doesn't respect money and has no room for more...

I don’t own the envelope wallet so I can’t speak to how that particular SLG wears but your description suggests you got one that may have not been the best coming out of production. Mine had perfect glazing and it has worn really well. All in all, your experience doesn’t seem normal based on my experience - I would exchange

I love my YSL cardholder - it is beautiful and holds my everyday cards (insurance, AAA, debit/health/credit cards, and license). I like being able to see my cards. I tend to use the cardholder in smaller bags like a camera bag or the Alma bb. For bigger bags, like speedy 25b, I use a LV Rosalie or ZCP. Alternatively, the LV key pouch holds plenty of cards and can be attached.

+1 to cardholder. I got my ysl cardholder ~3 years ago, I use it everyday and it still feels brand stinking new.

I also have a ysl wallet (same red color) but I only use my cardholder. I really only use 1 main debit card and 1 main credit card, so it holds that, some cash, drivers license, and 2 more cards. It's amazing.

I have friends with a burberry and a chanel cardholder, and their leather have stretched out that stuff just falls out. :)

Which YSL card holder did you get?

The YSL zipped cardholder is my favorite. Holds a lot, yet is slim and compact. I like the regular cardholders too, but the zipped version is the one I gravitate to the most.

I absolutely love the ysl card case. As others have mentioned it doesn’t stretch out like others have for me in the past. I have the black on black monogram card case; https://www.ysl.com/en-us/card-case...-poudre-embossed-leather-423291BOW081000.html

Since I frequently switch between a large tote and a crossbody, I carry the essentials in my cardholder and then a large wallet for all my extra stuff that I leave in my tote.
