Wallet Dilema

Oh my, decisions, decisions. I did go to Neiman's today and I saw the zip wallet and it was very nice. They did not have the flap so I could not really compare the two. The zip looked very nice and the toffee color is incredible too!

I've had the continental one for a couple of years and it's a great style- very easy to use and elegant. Definitely no fear of anything falling out.

I do however want to get a zip-around wallet- just looking for the right colour. My SA tells me it's great for travelling as you can fit a passport in it.

If you have several continental style wallets I say go for a change and get a zip-around wallet.

well this year BV came out with a new wallet
it has all the attributes of the zip around
but it only zips on two sides and has a little handle like a wristlet
it is much flatter than the zip around also
you might want to consider this
they come in color and are trimmed in another color
like nero comes with ebano trim
cardinal with opera trim
antique pink with petal trim or the other way around I forget

Septembersiren, thanks so much! I have to research that one. I don't have a BV store near me so I rely on Neiman's but they don't have anything but the zip around.

Also, you mentioned that the Large Veneta will drop about 1 1/2 inches - does this mean it will take more of a true hobo shape? I got the medium veneta and now I think I am regretting my decision (however, I guess that means I can save and get another one :)). I just felt when I tried on the large I was going to knock somebody out when I turned around :) If you want, you can PM me to discuss further as I don't want to take too much forum time up :)

The toffee color is incredible looking as I have seen that IRL but never the ink so I am leary of getting that color but I have heard it is beautiful. Would you suggest the toffee or ink wallet do you think?

Thanks :)

yes it gets soft and squishy and does drop
so it takes a hobo shape and not that of a kite
there are probably pictures posted here of loved venetas
you should check them out
also the bv website don't forget that
I don't know where you are located but you can call any BV store and someone will assist you
the website has some great pics on it

Thanks so much! I am working with the NY store since I am in PA. However, there is a store in Natick Mass and they are also very helpful.

Oh I meant to attach this photo. The middle one looks like it can hold a lot. I carry two cell phones... (yes it's maddening)

It also looks like it'd double as a clutch. ;)

I am also a huge fan of the zip-around wallet. When the wallet is open all the way, there is no way of anything accidentally falling out because it is like a "cradle" . I can stuff cards and receipts in there and never worry that they will fall out when the wallet is open. I can also put stuff in there that would never go into a continental wallet (small phone, etc). I even prefer my BV zip wallets to my Hermes Kelly Long because they are much easier to get in and out of.

It really is a matter of preference. I also love and have Hermes Bearn wallets, and they would probably be comparable to continentals because they opens up in flaps. I cannot, however, fit as much stuff in them as I can a zip-around.

tegan What did you get at the end? I'm wondering about the fold-over wallet in this picture. It looks like it can hold a lot such as cell phone and passport.

I'm not tegan, but the fold-over wallet in the photo is mine (my SA took the photo to compare it with the others, then I bought it). I bought it specifically for travel because it is definitely roomy enough for a passport. The two zippered compartments are pretty ample. I have an antiquated mobile phone (it's not one of the flattish big-screen smartphones), so I can't answer your query about that with certainty, but I suspect it would fit a smartphone or Blackberry (perhaps two) easily and still have the organization of the card slots inside.
