Vintage Turquoise earrings - different shades ?

I have a turquoise pair of earrings and they are a slightly different color. It bothers me, but I tell myself that it is not noticeable since they are worn on opposites sides of the head. Nevertheless, since I noticed the difference I have not worn them. In my experience, VCA will not replace only one turquoise, they have to replace all turquoise stones to ensure the best color match, however, in that case it is hard to account for the color difference here. Since she just received them, I would return them and ask for a better match. If this was years down the road and she had just noticed, I would say it's not a huge deal and learn to live with it, but in this case there's no reason to settle for less than a perfect match.
Well these are a brand new pair of turquoise earrings. They took the old single motif (which was the very old design, with flat beads around the clover) and made a brand new pair with new stones. that is why I am also surprised for the difference in the shade as they are supposedly brand new stones… the service has been fully paid… the earrings are still at the boutique to loosen the clasp. It took 5 months for this to be done so I don’t know how long more it would take if we ask for the stone replacement… really don’t know what to do… maybe the lighting was different I can’t tell

When you receive the earrings back from the repair, can you and/or your mom take a closer look at the motifs in person? In the first photo it appears that left motif is in a darker shade, but in the second photo only the top half of the left motif appear to be in a darker shade, while the bottom half is a brighter shade similar to the motif on the right. This led me to wonder if there was something hovering over the left motif where the lights hit and made it look darker in some of the photos (like maybe you were holding a phone over the earrings to take photos?).

I can see a very slight difference in the first two photos which admittedly may only be due to lighting, but I cannot see a difference in the last photo. I think it's important, as others have noted, that these are earrings and won't be worn closely together.

These are lovely If it were me, I'd be thrilled to have and wear them honestly.

Hello there,
Back in december 2023 my mother lost one of her turquoise Vintage earrings so VCA took the old one and made a brand new pair. 2 weeks ago, my mum received the pair at the store, it is beyond stunning... we took a picture but looking at it clearly I realize that depending on the lighting the shades are different. As you can see one is lighter than the other.
My mother already paid for the service.
-Is it worth asking for the stone to be replaced to a similar shade or it is too late? Would it bother you?
I mean it is quite obvious to me that the shades are not exactly the same. The total service cost around 3600 USD

Thanks a lot for your feedback folks

This would bother me...but then again, I have OCD so I prefer uniformity lol.

When you first noticed the difference, was it like, "Huh, that's interesting" or was it more like, "Ugh, they're different."

Personally, I'm very "eh, good enough" with a lot of things. But every so often there's something that I just have to have perfect.

Where on the spectrum does this current pair of earrings fall? Also, imagine worst case scenario VCA won't change the stones for free. Would it be worth it to you to pay more to change them out at your own cost? Or would you be ok with keeping them as is?

Hi! My two cents.
I would exchange and get them perfect. VCA is all about perfection. If VCA can match a 20 motif, they can certainly match one earring.

Looking at all your photos, the hue is different... with the lighter stone having a drop of white and the darker stone having a drop of gray.

My humble opinion is this bothers you enough to ask here on a forum. If it did not bother you, it would not even be a passing thought in your mind. For this reason alone, I would get it fixed and matched correctly, regardless of our opinion.

This bugs you, and that's what counts. This would bug me too, for sure, not because someone else might see it, but because I see it. Jewelry is for me, and it's me that matters.
