Well the seller is ThRealReal and they've refused the return. I spoke with supervisor to no avail. Will file chargeback with Visa :/
Why are they refusing the return? A bag that has been repainted incorrectly by a non authorized Chanel repair service can invalidate the authenticity of the bag. What did they disclose in the listing?

Agreed! Here is the description. Nowhere does it state repainted. I would not have purchased if it had been disclosed :(

Maybe it is because of the current market environment but I feel like TRR is firmer with their no return policy on handbags than they had been in the past. For handbags that were SNAD in the past (eg, excessive corner wear or undisclosed large stains), they were always OK with taking them back. My last experience with a SNAD will make me a lot more cautious with purchasing from them in the future. Even though the bag I had purchased had structural issues, they wouldn’t offer me a refund and only store credit. It is crazy that they won’t take a repainted bag back. I am glad you are taking it with your credit card company. Good luck!
Wow, this looks like an amateurish first try. I don't even think the paint is suitable for leather. This is horrible!
I hope they mend their ways, and you can bring it to an fair end :whut:
Thank you. I'm so upset

Thank you. That helps so much. I've bought quite a number of preloved, but haven't had an issue like this. However, just received a Gucci cashmere wrap that was listed as pristine with at least five pulls throughout :/ This company has gone to s#*! in my opinion. Waaah! I love Bijoux chains and sooo wanted this bag
I just ordered 2 vintage LV's from them to restore, the one kept looking off to me in looking at the pictures so I started to NOT trust their authentication.... I decided to work to authenticate it myself because something just kept looking off, turns out the one was absolutely fake! It took me a couple hours manipulating their terrible photos but I am 100% sure it's not real. I contacted them to cancel the order, provided my photo comparisons, and thankfully they cancelled it. I considered buying the one I knew was real but decided against it. On the flip side, I've been noticing things mis advertised as fair or good when they should be excellent, screwing the customers that are selling the item. A friend of mine sent in a Chanel jacket to have estimated before selling, they gave her a a range of 1600-2300 that they would sell it for, so she was happy knowing the lowest they would guarantee was the $1600 so she went ahead with allowing them to sell.... they put it up the next day for $695, did not notify her the sale started and it sold immediately! They had to make good on it with her and did eventually give her the balance of the lowest quoted price plus a little bonus but the whole situation is completely unacceptable!

I am extremely annoyed with them now, they are not processing and authenticating properly, they don't put up even the most basic/should be required photos so we can see things like date codes/authenticity cards/stickers, tags, tell if the item has been completely re-painted! They are expecting us to take their word on how they are advertising but that is something that can only be earned by reputation which they are clearly damaging.. I can only assume they have way too many amateur/minimum wage people working for them these days. Oh, the bag I proved to them to be fake was just put back up for sale too! I have very little confidence in their processes anymore, they definitely do not deserve their namesake!

OMG!!! Sorry you sent through that, but glad you were able to get them to cancel!

Something like this happened with me with Vestiaire Collective. I bought a Lady Dior and the handle had been replace. the D I O R charm was replaced and spelled R O I D.

ROID?!

Pftt!

I complained and they said I should have known better, but in the photo I could not tell. Plus, photos sometimes show up as mirror images depending on how it is uploaded. It took several rounds of complaints before they took it back. You were smart to get PayPal involved quickly.

I feel like repainting is more common that we realize. I bought a Chanel jumbo double flap from Analise Designs on Ebay. BEWARE!!! Yes the bag was authentic but they DID NOT DISCLOSE that it was repainted. It was only after I took it to Fashionphile two years later to sell that THEY told me that the bag had been repainted and was therefore worth very little. I was so embarrassed and devastated. I feel like I am done buying secondhand. Too many weird issues like this. I was only worried about authenticity...not repainting or refurbishing. Too many issues and risks with secondhand. I have bought new Chanel bags but they have gotten so pricey that I dipped my toe in the resale market. Never again! and TRR is atrocious. I know someone who used to work there and she said that there are a lot of fakes that slip through and no one cares because of their insane quotas.
