Vintage Coach Catalogs

There's a very nice person named Matt on Facebook that has an amazing collection of Coach Small Leather Goods (SLGs) and Men's Accessories - including some fabulous water buffalo items - and he has recently been posting photos of his Coach items.

He has now generously shared links to the catalogs that he used to help him find and identify his Coach possession and he is encouraging people to share this information with other Coach enthusiasts, see below. Some of the scans are almost illegible but there's still a lot of information in these files that some may be useful.

He also posted the images attached. I wasn't sure what to call them so I just copied them and called them Matt 1,2,3,4!

"Since I have reached the end of my SLG collection, I want to share the catalogs that helped me find them.
I first discovered these catalogs in late October of 2021 when I was looking for the No. 66 Water Buffalo trademark.
These catalogs were used in a trial by Coach regarding the use of the "Coach" name against Triumph Learning LLC.
To access them, go to https://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?qt=adv&procstatus=All&pno=91170112&propno=&qs=&propnameop=&propname=&pop=&pn=&pop2=&pn2=&cop=&cn= and scroll down until you reach "PL'S NOTICE OF RELIANCE PART 4" and "PL'S NOTICE OF RELIANCE PART 5". These PDFs are 300 pages each and may take a while to load or not load at all. They work best on a computer.
Executive Gifts Catalogs from 1963 to 1971- https://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?pno=91170112&pty=OPP...
Executive Gifts Catalogs from 1971 to 1973 and bag catalogs from Fall 1974 and later (Need to scroll all the way down for the old ones)- https://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?pno=91170112&pty=OPP...
Some scans can hardly be read, but it's the best resource available for these obscure products.
Since I don't believe in withholding information that benefits everyone, I highly encourage sharing these catalogs with other vintage Coach communities.
If this isn't allowed, I can delete the post.
Have fun learning,
Matt."

I LOVE what are apparently early 1970s Great Seal items!

And one more addition courtesy of the original scanner - some place in Arkansas that I guess he wanted to help someone else find. The "Lodge", maybe? I wonder if Possum Lodge has an Arkansas branch?

Just another Blast From The Past, thanks to "Leather Treasures" and all his other IDs, plus TeleAtlas and Google, copyright 2007.

And THAT'S IT !!!!
I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE! :yahoo:

I hope these come in handy. :girlsigh: Remember, they're to be used for reference ONLY. We will NOT appreciate it if someone copies all of these and adds their name to the long list of people selling the scans. These are free for anyone to use for their research, no tPF registration is even required, regardless of what a few people trying to make a buck or 30 or 40 by reselling Coach's copyrighted property are falsely claiming.
Amazing! Thank you for doing this for the group. Very valuable!

I have a few questions as I begin to decide which Coach vintage bags I am interested in finding. I’m thinking finding bags as close to the first manufacturing dates is a good thing and also bags that were not produced for too long, and really old bags, of course. Now, if a bag, for example, is listed in a Spring ‘97, Fall ‘97, Holiday ‘97 but is not listed in any subsequent catalog does that mean that bag is no longer manufactured? How long do they keep manufacturing that bag after they are no longer in the catalog? Is there a time period one can depend on?

Reading the catalogs is very interesting and I so appreciate that information being available. I am still all over the place - reading catalogs, reading the authentication pages and the purse rehabbing files. I have been buying some bags but I realized I need to stop or slow down the purchases and figure out some things. My educ and work history is interior design. I have sewn, crafted, made art (probably only in my eyes), learned photography, and redone a bunch of houses and businesses. I keep coming back to fabric/fibers/leather goods/natural products that stand the test of time. One last question. Am I too old at 69 to go down this Coach path?

No, there really are no dependable time periods, and a discontinued style might be available in the stores well after it had been pulled from the catalogs. Coach didn't hold to any set schedules. Remember too that items from before 1994 didn't have date codes so any details that involve dates are mostly speculation and educated guesses. Popular styles could even be discontinued and re-released a few years later.

The best Rule to remember is "The most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency".

IMO, no. Do you like carrying/using quality leather bags, totes, etc? :yes:In my well-populated area, I regularly see women of all ages carrying vintage Coach. I am not much younger than you and started a deep dive into Coach about 6 years ago. It started as a desire to learn how to best condition and care for the handful of vintage Coach I owned. When I found a community here that shared my appreciation of vtg Coach and was an incredible information base (I have known of the abundance of fakes out there, some very convincing) my interest and collecting and rehabbing went off the charts  Enjoy.

Lake Effect, that makes me feel great! Thank you for the encouraging words.
