I like your ring! Precisely because it’s a RHR, you can go for a statement ring. Also zircon is a flashy gem, so it’s not like it will be under the radar, I just bought a red zircon ring myself. I make myself laugh quizzing my DH about what he thinks of my different rings, he has ridiculous reasons why he likes some rings and not others.

ok. what do you all think about paraiba tourmalines? they seem expensive...but their color looks incredible!

LOVE them! Talk about lit from within! Are you looking at any one in particuar..cuz you gotta share! I think they are not easily found in retail. I saw one in a magazine that was to-die-for..like “just shoot me now”
Let me see if can find it...

I have just been looking around. Paraiba tourmaline is sooo gorgeous! I particularly love the caribbean blue coloration.

Look at this one!

To die for!!

I love blue stones. Sapphire is my favorite gem stone. I have a zircon ring only in white. Love your ring! The first one looks similar to a ring my hubby bought me years ago but a tad smaller than yours.

This looks like a zircon, doesn’t it? It is supposed to be a Paraíba tourmaline...

I like this better than the $32k one in the listing you posted:biggrin: yes they are sort of similar in that they are so brilliant. I think zircon is “crisper” while Paraiba tourmaline is more “watery” I know ble zircons are heated and that is acceptable but dont think the tournalines are..but not sure.

Ok, I’m a little ocd so I ordered a Paraiba Tourmaline for comparison to the blue zircon. The ring on the left is the Paraiba.

essiedub, what do you think? I really want a Paraiba one day, but I don’t think this ring is going to be it. It’s not the light neon color rougher cut I prefer. I am not going to bother verifying this ring either, because unfortunately, it has a chip (I’m a little ocd so I have a loupe). And, you were right, the zircon is ‘crisper’ looking!

You are too funny lulu! Well seen side by side, I really like the setting of your zircon. Hard to tell the stone quality but if the tourmaline is not neon-ish, there’s no point to having it (and the chip further detracts). As they are similar in size, I am assuming that the tourmaline is much more (2x?) than the zircon - though it may be discounted for the chip and diamonds in the setting...just curious.

You’re good! The Paraiba is almost exactly double the price of the zircon. Interestingly, the Paraiba is 3.15 and the zircon is 4.60 but they face up almost identical.

What do you all think of this one? 6.47 zircon set with little rubies (that’s not my hand btw).

Well ..bigger is always better! Or not. Is it deeper teal than your original? but that could be the photography. I like it but personally prefer the setting on the first. Of course if it were given to me, I’d gladly wear it! :P Seriously though, since It is more of a cocktail ring..I think it might not be Great for everyday because the stone is not hearty like diamonds or sapphires. Bigger also means more susceptible, especially if you’re right handed (but you’ll eventually get used to it). Every time, I wear a right hand ring, I bang it:sad:

Looks like you’re not sold on the first one..so keep on looking!
