UPS knows what our boxes are!!!! A few weeks ago, the UPS guy goes as I am receiving the box from him, "oooooh someone got something good." And I go, "It's paper!" He goes, "nooooo I know that that is something designer like coach or gucci." I just stared at him stunned. And then I got louder, "It's paper refills!" But how the EFF should he know I ordered anything like that? It's none of their damn business. I tweeted about it. Pissed me off. So if you have some new UPS driver who doesn't care about their job and they know from their paperwork that it's from a designer house. Of course they might open it, take it, and close it back up. Grr!
I had UPS steal a package of mine from Best Buy. Opened an investigation and nothing. Eventually got a refund but it's incredibly upsetting to have someone take it and you have paid for it with hard earned money.
BTW - if they deliver enough of LV packages they get smart about it. Canada is a little better as someone has to be physically home to receive it. They will not leave it at the door. And the online orders will usually say "LV Distribution", "LVCA" and they are stupid enough to put designer handbag or leather goods on the description

I wondered…. Could the item be missing because it was left unattended and someone walked past and “open-steal” the item? Or is it opened by delivery personnel as they know who the sender is and know they could easily sell it off or have it for themselves?
I feel the pain you go through. You stalked for so long and finally when your dream is about to come true it came up empty!!
I’m just wondering the problem is with dishonest delivery personnel or opportunist passer-by.
Nobody touched the package in-between the package being dropped off in my front door and me picking it up, because I have a camera monitoring my front door. And also even if there's a pass-by, they would most likely just grab the whole thing rather than taking the extra effort opening, stealing, and resealing, right?

Just want to update everyone so that it may help to know for the future: I also filed a claim with UPS on the same day, uploaded the pictures and descriptions. The second day I received a call from UPS asking for more details about the package. And on Saturday Oct 16, I received an email from LV saying my return was initiated, pending my sending back the product. I was like what?! You mean I should Return the empty box to you LV?! Had to call LV again to clarify, and I was told that it was auto generated email. The investigation is still ongoing and should take 14days, and UPS will notify them(LV) the results. Ok I could wait, not a big deal, even though the return initiated email was weird. Today Oct 18, I received an email from LV that the return is received and I will be refunded in 14 business days. And checking my credit card, I already see the refund pending.
Just want to share the experience for future reference if something like this ever happen to you (but I hope not!)

so glad you got your refund. this type of experience is very stressful. i'm glad it worked out. i received a box from an lv store that was not sealed at all. no tape. i freaked out but the item was in there which really was a miracle . the box was hanging open with the lv box inside visible. i photographed it before touching it too. anyway glad yours worked out.

This just happened to me. I opened my package of my key pouch, but it was just half a LV box and some ribbon. It was signed for by my husband and delivered by our normal UPS guy. CA said this was happening a lot with the small items. She said she filed a claim and would send me another one. Very annoying and nerve wracking. I am glad you were refunded.

Omg! That’s too bad to hear another one…. But glad you are getting a replacement

I don’t know what the rules are regarding opening packages for inspection purposes. I know it’s possible that that could happen, but to be honest if I saw that a package had been opened and re-taped I would be tempted to refuse it just in case. I suspect it would be done professionally if there had been a legit reason for opening the package.

So sorry this has happened to you. I’m sure that LV will fix this for you, though. Good luck!

I received a few LV orders in the past month, and there is nothing on the delivery box that says LV, it's some random guys name. Maybe the manager of the warehouse or whatever, but I can't imagine how'd they know it's from LV. Plus, I had to be home to accept the package. I missed the first few days of delivery and the UPS driver didn't leave it at my door. I had to wait on the third day when I was home to actually get it.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I actually like ordering directly from a store through one of my CAs. They pretty much tape the box to death with tamper proof tape. Very different when I have ordered from Online.

I think it's different for packages shipped to Canada from the LV warehouse in the States. The description from UPS always notes leather goods or designer handbag because it has to go through customs. I'll take a photo next time
