So excited - my SA just emailed and said she has a P18 in GHW on hold for me - have been waiting so long!

However, the color is vert cyprès which was not my first choice (I was hoping for a gray) and I'm nervous about the color both exterior/interior. On H.com VC looks like this delicious dark emerald color but I find a lot of other photos online that make vert cyprès looks like a muddy almost-black color. Eek.

A few questions for VC owners:

- Can you share some photos in advance so I know what to expect? (Have already perused the clubhouse Green thread for reference photos and the photos there are all so different!)

- Do you find it hard to match twillys to VC?

- I wear a fair amount of red accessories like shawls, shoes, silks and I obviously don't want to look like a Christmas tree when I go out... would that alone be a reason to pass on VC? I don't want to purchase a bag that makes me relegate my favorite accessories to the closet ;)

Thanks in advance all for helping me with my pre-purchase research!!

I have a Togo K32 in VC, it’s a glorious green, shown here against etoupe. I’m not sure it’s a great compliment to red tho? B563C222-D87B-4841-B7DA-F24BD79E351F.jpeg

What leather is your P18 as that may make a difference?

Am I thinking of a different color? The above picture doesn’t look like vert cypress. It’s almost gray like vert amande??

Here’s my vert cypress in different lighting. Please let me know if I’m thinking of something totally different.

My Kelly is definitely VC! It can in certain light look like the B pictured however?

My advice is to relax and just go and see the bag in person. It would help if you will be wearing your red accessories to see if the color matches. One thing I noticed with H bags is that you can light the colors up or down depending on what scarf and charm you match with the bag.

And just to confuse you, here is my bastia in VC chevre and then compared to black in box.:giggle: So yes, all colors/hues appear different depending on the leather, lighting etc. It is NOT muddy at all, its a true deep green ( no blue at all- although the lighting may make it appear that way in photos)- totally gorgeous.. I'm a neutral girl and adore VC- its one of the colors I would consider in a bag( if in a leather I love). Go see it- its a truly amazing color, but you need to love it:flowers: VC bastia.jpgVC bastia 2.jpg

Thank you for these photos - your B is stunning and looks so good on you! I love your riding-in-car image :) Do you find VC to look truly dark green? I keep seeing photos where it looks dark teal (more like your last in-store photo)

Ah I'm glad I'm not crazy, I also thought the original photo looked a little like vert amande (which I have and love) and thanks for chiming in that it looks like @HKsai's bag! May I ask, what twillies are those? Did you find it hard to choose twillys to look good with VC?

Ooh so interesting about "highlighting" the color by using accessories - of course that makes sense now that I think about it but it wouldn't have occurred to me. I think I'll wear my red scarf to my appointment per your suggestion!
I absolutely love this colour! It is a great unexpected neutral. Here is mine in Novillo.
I would buy the bag, personally, if I were you. Hope this helps.

Ooh thank you! Your riding-in-car photo (along with that from @HKsai) are super handy in the natural light! I appreciate your gut instinct to buy... I think I'm coming around to that!

Thank you thank you! The comparison against black is very useful.

I really appreciate your feedback that there isn't any blue in it - that's my big hesitation because I don't prefer blue greens (no matter how dark) but do love most dark greens. I suspect VC isn't as warm as a dark emerald color, but if it's not blue toned I'll probably enjoy it!

I'm a neutral woman too (with the exception of red accessories!) so it's good to rethink VC as a neutral, I hadn't considered that.

Would you guys (@HKsai @jenaywins @paula24jen) consider VC and "every day" color? This would go into rotation as one of my daily drivers.

It only leans a bit teal because of the yellow lighting. Hermès lighting is so yellow and dim, it’s hard to show the true color. I really do believe that vert cypress is dark enough to be considered an everyday bag, especially if you wear mostly neutrals or colors that lean jewel or cool tones.

I’m not sure if you are looking at etain. Here’s a picture of the two side by side. You can see how dark vert cypress can be.

I'm glad to hear that you feel the lighting is what caused the teal coloring. I agree, the lighting in H stores is pretty but dim. I prefer to look at bags near our boutique's big front windows for that very reason.

I wear mostly blacks and grays with the occasional cream or emerald thrown in. My wardrobe is very casual (and probably boring ;)) so maybe VC would be a nice compliment - a touch of color without being too bright.

I would honestly consider this to be an every day colour over nearly every other colour that I own, absolutely. It lends itself to any outfit colour, and it can be dressed down for day and dressed up for night. Truly, I would not hesitate to purchase this colour.

Thanks for your input... so happy to hear it's even more of an everyday color than others! I hadn't thought of dressing it up for night (can't frankly imagine if I'll ever go out again!) but love the idea of this doubling as a more fancy bag for certain occasions!
