Plastic was not the right word to use. It feels plasticky to me so that stuck in my head. But a couple of years ago the inside of the bags changed, they weren’t the double fabric lining that they used to be. The pockets were more of a very thin nylon, hence the plasticky that stuck in my head. More recently all the bag styles themselves have changed. I think the only one still around that I remember is the Glenna. I always bought the classic tote, retail price was around $48. I don’t think that is available anymore. All I see now in my store are crossbodies and the hipster, neither style I carry. And backpacks, ditto. So in all honesty I haven’t looked inside a Vera as of late, they may very well have returned to the very nice double fabric lining. I will have to look next time I’m in store.

Oh I understand. I believe the insides are still a nyloney (making up my own words now lol) type material that says either VB or Vera Bradley on it. Edit: some bags and accessories also have different prints inside (polka dots, etc.). They do sell what is called 'Iconic Small (or) large Tote'. Not sure if that's the same. I don't know much about older Vera Bradley products.

Does anyone know the name of this pattern? Is it even a real Vera Bradley? Pic is from Poshmark.
You could look through the pics of their archive on the Vera Bradley website:

I mostly shop at the Vera outlet. I love the pineapple pattern they have out this summer. I tend to pick up the nylon items vs the quilted. I like the Vera items because I can wash them, my higher end bags have been getting less love due to Covid.

I looked at the retired patterns and didn't see it there. I thought maybe it was a retired outlet pattern and the VB website doesn't have a list of retired outlet patterns.

I love that you can wash vera and I usually only buy small bags/pouches to put inside my purse but I do also buy bigger overnight bags.

The overnight bags are GREAT! We have three from the outlet, paid about $20 each. My husband and I each use one if we go away for the weekend on a road trip. Love to be able to wash the duffel bags after a vacation.

I like Vera Bradley accessories but I find that the quilted ones wear out rather easily. I cannot find a wallet I like better than the zip Id cases but they wear out. Here’s a photo of some purple Vera Bradley accessories both new and old:

I adore Vera Bradley, the cotton quilted items. Their bags are very functional, and best of all super lightweight. They can also be machine washed, which is super useful. Vera has everything from small accessories to travel bags. I love their styles, I first got hooked decades ago on their original handbag and travel duffel bags. Back then I had a similar bag from Pierre Deux, and when I couldn’t find a new one was when I discovered Vera Bradley. For me they’re really the perfect casual bags. And there are patterns and colors for everyone.

It is true that they changed the insides of some of their bags from the previous cotton quilted, to a plasticky or nylony material. Am not pleased with that, but I still like Vera much better than most bags.

And the prices at their online outlet are really good!
