Hello VCA lovers:
I am very new to the brand and just starting to wear jewelry. I found that while I love a single piece as it stands out, it is prettier when mix and match with another piece to your personal style. Not an impulse buy, but how soon you would consider adding more to your collection or “stack”?

My husband bought me several pieces from Cartier and Tiffany but they never spark me. Until this year, he bought be JUC bracelet!
And since then, my journey with VCA begins as I think JUC looks really pretty with VCA and add feminine to it.

Want to know your guys opinion as I want it to last, and be thoughtful when adding another piece to the collection.

XOXO

Your luxury jewelry collection is a journey, not a sprint. It’s all about budgeting for me and prioritizing other financial goals first before adding luxury items. But generally I add 2-3 big ticket items per year. Big ticket varies from person to person but for me it’s about 3-4K per item. That includes bags. This year I got three items (Cartier Love necklace, VCA holiday pendant, and VCA Guilloche earrings). Next year it’ll be 2 jewelry items in total most likely.

This will vary a lot by person and even by cost of items for each person. I have been purposely adding the more expensive items from my VCA wish list first since i got the advice from some lovely ladies here to do so. I also noticed a number of members ‘upgrading’ pieces later on. I would rather buy few really cherished pieces then a lot of pieces to mix and match with. I also try to buy for special occasions and spread out my purchases.

In Sept 2020, I bought my first VCA piece (VA pendant, YG guilloche) and about 3.5 weeks later, I ended up purchasing the Holiday Pendant too. This was not something I planned on but I really adore the guilloche pattern (am now wanting the matching earrings and maybe the bracelet down the line).

For me personally, purchasing jewellery is not a race. I tend to really do my research before dropping money on anything luxury/expensive - saving up also takes time too.

In 2021, I just want to appreciate what I have so I don’t foresee myself buying anything jewellery related.
I also bought two Cartier pieces so in 2020, I bought way more jewellery than I even dreamed of

I agree with you that JUC looks beautiful with VCA pieces :)
I have been adding VCA and Cartier every now and then in the past years,
my 2013 Holiday pendant started my obsession with VCA, I then completed my Malachite collection
from 5 motifs bracelet, a magic pendant, a vintage size ring and finally just this year I've added a 10 motifs necklace.
A Onyx set followed the next year and so on but I have not bought anything for years after that!

This 2020 however, due to travel restriction and so on, I decided to spend more on my jewelry collections than travel
and I am glad I did. Since April I've got almost everything I wanted on my wishlist and completed most of my sets! :)

I felt a lot happier with jewelry than buying handbags, shoes or clothes! VCA always makes me happy!
I wanted to explore other jewelry brands but I would always fall back into the VCA universe! I find it to suit
my lifestyle the most and learning about gemstones makes it even more interesting!

I did buy at least few weeks or a 1 month apart, it was not an impulse buys, most of it was thought through
However as much as I love and feel very grateful for every piece I've got.. there is one set that I am not really happy
with, it does not bring me joy when I wear it, I don't feel a connection to it unlike the other VCA pieces I've got
and it made me think if I have really rushed into it and if I really need it or if it suit my skin tone or something.

Buying so many pieces at once is overwhelming lol but I really wanted to complete a set or else in my mind
I cannot enjoy it! So it really depends on the individuals. In the years to come I will just enjoy what I have now
as the jewelry do last longer than handbags and shoes in my opinion :)

Share your purchases when you can! I'd love to see what you've got :)

Hope you don’t mind my asking but which set does not bring you joy?

Would you consider selling the pieces for something that does bring you joy?

My journey only started in 2020. Previously VCA was a brand I admired from afar and I never thought I could actually call one my own.

I decided to take the plunge and bought the gmop pave diamond bracelet as my birthday present back in Aug. Best ever decision. I was so in love! Within 3 months, I bought a VCA watch (because I am a watch lover!), thereafter within 2 months I bought the agate bracelet because I wanted one piece for daily wear to work. After I bought my 3rd piece, my heart felt complete.

I am now slowly taking my time to decide the 4th piece. My wishlist keeps changing whenever I try on new jewelry. *laugh

i will definitely get at least one VCA in 2021. If there are new designs that I love, I would probably get more.

Of course I don't mind :) .. It is unfortunately the white mother of pearl :(
I don't know why but I don't feel it, I am more happy with the Onyx, Tiger Eye, Carnelian and definitely the Malachite but the white mother of pearl.. maybe I need to wear it more? I don't know! That's why I was hesitated to get the MOP in WG even though I adore it but I just feel like it might not work for me. I wore the bracelet a week ago and I didn't really feel happy with it, then I wore it two days ago and the same feeling was just lingering there.

Oh I don't think I will sell it. I get awfully sad when I part with my things lol I will hold onto it and see if I can spice it up in a way or another! I have placed an order for between the fingers Lucky Alhambra ring in my size and I think that will work well with the MOP and TE bracelets stack.

Sorry for the long reply lol :giggle:

Don’t be sorry - I love long replies

I hope the new ring helps the MOP bring you joy!

Do you have a lot of MOP pieces? Are they all in WG? Would YG be better?

Varies with the person, the jewelry collection you already have, and the budget.

the Last time I bought jewelry was in 2001. This past year, I bought a lot for me. But not just VCA. I mix things and don’t really match (on purpose). In the last half of 2020, I bought a pair oBelperron corne earrings (from Verdura Belperron); a VCA six motif grey black and white mop necklace; and am in the process of ordering a Verdura cuff. I tend to buy things until I feel my collection is stable. Then I stop. Of course, always within ones budget without debt or issues with other more essential expenses.

@ayshaa, the butterfly earrings are gorgeous! If I wore pendants, I might match more. And, I think, if you grow up matching things, I think you tend to match? my whole family matches things (It’s a cultural thing too) But, unlike them, I grew up in the US with a hodgepodge of stuff from mom, grandmother, aunts and slowly pieced together my own style. It’s still in process, and I love vintage and modern and base and precious metals all together. Re the WMOP, is the reason why you dont like it as much, bc it’s wg not yg like your other more colorful pieces? IMO! Wear the WMOP for a few days, to the grocery, errands, dry cleaners, everywhere. And then decide if it’s you. I would never sell jewelry bc I could gift it to family (our family recycles things among themselves).

@jyyanks, I’m afraid to buy something for an occasion! I feel like it’s too much pressure lol! Also, It’s frightening how much VCA yu can get when you stop buying Hermes and Chanel RTW, isn’t it

@zlauren, I love your description of low key and shiny! Your pendant sounds gorgeous And worth the wait!

All my pieces in the MOP are in YG actually :)
I have the 5 motifs vintage alhambra bracelet, a vintage ring with the middle diamond, a Magic pendant.
All of my sets contains a bracelet, ring and a magic pendant usually! I don't wear earrings though
but I might invest in some in the future. I really want the matching butterfly earrings! :)

Not to be off topic :)
I do have the necklace, will be adding the ring hopefully next month
and the earrings in couple of months if I decide to. I think I am completing all of my sets lol
I just have a few that might take a year or two to save for! Who knows!

To me VCA gives me OCD I need to have a set of 3 items, I cannot wear a necklace
without the bracelet nor the ring! I don't know why, I envy the ladies who mix and match
which is super beautiful but I just can't do it! I think it is a cultural thing? We are used to wear
a set since we are young so I believe that is another reason for me to NEED buying a full set. :giggle: :panic:
