Check out the website Luxury Hedge- it willHi going to Bangkok this month end and wondering how the prices are there and if anyone has an SA contact there ?
It’s generally not cheaper to buy in Europe with USD for Van Cleef. Keep in mind, the prices on NL website do include tax already, whereas the USA does not. Also, the US will have you pay tax on luxury goods coming back in. I recently had a border agent specifically ask if I had spent over $1,000. I had not. But just an FYI. I would buy in the US if it’s only about the monetary savings. If you want it more as a reminder of your trip, prepare to pay a little more, especially when you pay tax coming back into the USA.hi everyone! planning on going to the Netherlands next week and wanted to buy a 5 motif bracelet in wg and the price seems to be more expensive in Europe even after i account for 10% VAT back. Am i missing something?
US price - $6,650 excl taxes
NL price - 7,200 EUR
thanks for your reply! i'm purely thinking about monetary savings. This is the math excluding what i'd pay at border control. It’s generally not cheaper to buy in Europe with USD for Van Cleef. A lot of luxury brands are significantly cheaper with the VAT refund, but Van Cleef isn’t one of them. Plus a lot of people choose not to declare when they return to the States (which obviously saves money) but if you are caught or worse if you lie to an agent about it, you definitely will NOT have a savings at all. I was tempted to get a Loewe bag on my way home from Copenhagen. The SA was even quick to show me the VAT savings but I’m glad I didn’t because for the first time ever, the border agent asked me if I was bringing back any goods over $1000. Not sure if they’re cracking down more or if this was a unique experience, but I’m definitely deterred from buying abroad now.thanks for your reply! i'm purely thinking about monetary savings. US price - $6,650 + 7% tax = $7,115
NL price - 7,200 EUR - 10% VAT = 6,480 EUR coverted to USD $6,900
savings would only be approx $200 and i would potentially have to pay at border control as you mentioned
i had gone to rome last year and seen this bracelet and was under the impression that the SA mentioned it is substantially cheaper to buy in Europe but doesn't seem to be the case so was just confused and wanting to know if something changed.
Switzerland is still competitive but depends on the current change (Swiss Franc usually gets high when world instability as it is a refuge money)thanks for your reply! i'm purely thinking about monetary savings. This is the math excluding what i'd pay at border control.

Honestly, at this point, most places will be cheaper than London for VCA. It sounds about right that VCA will be cheaper in Malaysia. It was the same case in Singapore this year when I did the sums, but cheapest in Japan by a mile.Hi all
I'm going to Malaysia in a few months from London. It seems the VCA 5 motif bracelet is 4200 GBP. Would there be any point buying it in Malaysia/ are there any luxury brands that make sense to buy in Malaysia from a price saving perspective.
As far as I can tell the price is 3850 in Malaysia with a possible 5% VAT refund, is that about correct?
Hi! Can I check, is it possible to get a VAT refund in Malaysia? I’ve not seen this!Hi all

Yes you can. You need to request it at the boutique, and usually it will be security sealed at purchase, for inspection at the final port of departure before they approve the VAT refund.Hi! Can I check, is it possible to get a VAT refund in Malaysia? I’ve not seen this!
