New to Valextra. I was looking for a whiskey brown handbag, but saw this oyster grey color as well so I grabbed both to compare in person. What color should I keep? The oyster has beautiful dimension and I love a good taupe, but the whiskey (they call it gold) is more of a need in my lineup.

Stylistically, its pretty structured. Is it TOO structured?

I don't love bags in this design, because I find them impractical when I'm out. If I'm wearing it crossbody, the top handle gets in the way when I try to open the flap. And, if I'm holding it in the crook of my arm, when I open the bag, the entire bag kind of flops forward, since now I'm only holding the flap (via the top handle).

I love the look of them, but they just don't work for me.

You raise an important point. Its easy to forget these things before you actually take the bag out into the wild.

I have the Iside MM in oyster, and it is a very versatile, 4-season colour. The whiskey colour looks to be versatile also; perhaps a bit more casual IMO. I’m a huge Valextra fan (have 4 Iside models), and find them easy to use. I’ve never found the top handle to get in the way when opening the bag, either worn cross-body or carried, nor have the contents ever tipped out when opening the bag, as it is well-balanced with a broad base.
Good luck in choosing!

That's encouraging. I'd love to see your collection! In what setting would you say you use your Isides the most?

I just got the Iside recently in the oyster, and I LOVE it. I think overall the shape of this bag is wonderfully classy, it’s easy to get into, and the simple open space inside means it can hold a lot.

I looked at the whiskey briefly but thought I could pair the oyster with more outfits so I went with that. Keep whichever one sparks more joy when you look at it.

Another vote for oyster! It was my first choice of colour but I recently got a beige coloured bag so went with classic black with quartz clasp instead.

Imo tan is more casual which suits this bag's prim and proper vibe less, also as mentioned above oyster is a lighter colour shows off the design better.

Either way, you can't go wrong, wear your new bag in good health :D

I'd vote for the whiskey color only because I have the Iside crossbody (an older model without a top handle) and the color works very well as a neutral for casual and dressier occasions. However, both colors look like beautiful, versatile colors but I'll admit that I haven't seen the Oyster in person and am not certain of the undertones. I would actually suggest holding both up to your face and see which flatters *you* the most and go with that. The whiskey has a honeyed warm undertone, while the oyster looks like a gray maybe more neutral undertone? Enjoy - both look gorgeous.
