I always recommend to get the one the bag looks best in, but in this case they both look good! Therefore, I'd advise getting the one that complements your wardrobe and other bags best. If you have lots of neutrals, go for the purple. If you have lots of colors then go for grey.

I vote purple but it depends on what you like. If you have a large enough collection that you do not need to add a neutral and or wear a lot that would compliment purple, I say go with that. If you need something more neutral I would go with the grey
Grey, because in my opinion it is a more versatile color. It goes basically with anything and is a timeless neutral.
If you want a statement piece then go for the purple. It stands out.
