Would you size up in both?

Hey All,

Without much prior research I bought my Love Bracelet size 17 in May 2020. All was good until I added the size 16 JUC in November.

It feels very tight and constricting at times (like at work in my blazer or at night), but at other times feels totally fine.

I am a guy, and I know many members on this forum like the snug fit for men, but I’m kinda wishing they went down over my wrist bone to my hand, which they don’t.

I’m still waiting on some quotes, but I’m estimating will be a $2.5k-$3.5k loss to purchase brand new sizes from Cartier after I sell mine. I know it’s a big loss, but I feel that in the long term it’s really not as they are forever pieces.

Depending on the day, my wrist measures 16-16.5 cm at the thickest spot directly over the wrist bone.

The photos in my car are when I like how they fit. The photos in my blazer at work are when they feel constricting, including this mark the JUC leaves.

So.... please help! I need reassurance - what would you do?

Honestly, they look about right to me. It's interesting that the clou seems to be leaving a mark, but not th elove. Have you thought above moving the clou to your non-dominant wrist which may be a smidge smaller?

Well I’m glad to hear you think they look right. :)

The Love does leave a “normal” mark from what I’ve seen, just the JUC mark is extra dark and deep sometimes.

I tried the JUC on my left wrist but it felt awkward whether it was above or below my Rolex. And plus, I wanna stack. And add to the stack in the future.

They look about right in size to me. If you really want to size up, I would try and get Cartier to resize it instead of selling (probably worthy asking different boutiques). I was thinking of resizing my JUC ring but decided against it. One SA said it wasn’t possible, the other said it was. Hope this helps!

Oh wow, I didn’t know that resizing could potentially be an option. I already texted my SA today about wanting to sell and rebuy, so I’ll see what he says.

Especially if you want to stack more, they look a bit small to me...

Yes, my concern is stacking two more Loves in the future. That’s why I’m just trying to get as many opinions here as possible even it seems repetitive. The JUC definitely feels small at times, but also feels ok at others. Not sure if I’m just overthinking.

I think they look great on you and from some pictures it seems like there is a bit of room. Ultimately though your comfort is what matters the most. You’ve mentioned that it feels tight and constricting at times and that you would like to stack more in the future. For those reasons I think you should go in store and maybe try on the bracelets that you would eventually like to stack in the next size up to see how they feel.

They look amazing on you, yes more snug than loose fit, but at least in the images they look perfect!

Thanks for the feedback. Today at work they really haven’t bothered me at all.. maybe it’s all in my head. The Love isn’t uncomfortable ever, just the JUC.

I 100% agree. I’ve already messaged my SA to set up an appointment after the holidays so I can take my time and try on a few different options in terms of sizing and stacking.

Stacking is idealized, but as you can see, can also be annoying. May I just submit respectfully having had three love bracelets stacked that they are:

1. A pain in the ass - between the clanking and not being able to take them off
2. Less attractive on, especially with nothing to break them up (maybe the clou helps, but didn't do the trick for me so I did not buy) than having just one or two

In short, maybe go with two loves and the clou. Your call, of course. I'm down to one Love myself, which was what I had for about 12 years before I started fiddling, and what I was happiest having.

You hit the (JUC) nail on the head! Haha.

I totally agree that I was much more comfortable with my single Love, and it’s only when the stacking started I had a problem.

I’ve now flipped the JUC bracelet around so the nailhead is closer to my hand, and it feels much more comfortable this way. (I know, I know, crazy I didn’t try it before.)

I’m going to take your advice and stop fiddling; keep these two as they are for at least a few years. :)

Am so glad this is helpful. I should also take my own advice and stop fiddling. Let's see how we do there ...

I know this is a few weeks old, but it seems it will cost me a bit more than anticipated if I want to size up in both, about $4k give or take.

I’m very torn because it’s a lot of money that could be saved for new jewelry in the future, but I know I will be reluctant to buy more Cartier at these sizes. The poll results are currently 50/50, and I know it’s all about preference, but I think I’d prefer them looser to clear my wrist bone. Anyone have additional input? I just can’t seem to drop it!

Even more photos for reference... this is how much they move on my arm; not quite as much as I’d like. First is as far towards my hand as they go, second is down my arm. I guess I know I’d prefer the larger sizes, just not sure if it’s worth the money when these do fit OK.

To me there is a big difference between a 17/18 in the love. I know all wrists shapes are different but when I had the larger size in the love and JUC they just stood out more on the sides and then hit the top of my palm. I constantly felt them and never understood how people could feel like their bracelets became a part of them. In your case though, it sounds like they are bothersome in the other extreme and you constantly feel their presence by being too tight.
My wrist varies from a 15.25-16 depending on where I’m measuring.
That’s about what I lost $$ too. Good luck deciding.
